Veiled Malevolence

In the shadowy corners of my perception, a vision emerged—a tall, gaunt woman cloaked in the garb of a nun. A sight both mesmerizing and unsettling. She defied the laws of nature, suspended in mid-air, her body levitating four feet above the ground. Slowly, she rotated, casting an otherworldly silhouette against the dimly lit backdrop.

An eerie hum emanated from her ethereal presence, a dissonant melody that sent shivers down my spine. As my feet propelled me forward, curiosity mingled with trepidation, an insatiable desire to unravel the enigma before me. I drew nearer, my heart pounding like a drumbeat of impending doom.

And then, in the flickering light, her features became unmistakable. Her skin, as black as the deepest abyss, swallowed all traces of light, radiating an aura of malevolence. Eyes devoid of color or compassion pierced through the veil of my sanity, drawing me deeper into a maelstrom of fear.

An icy grip constricted my chest, and panic surged through my veins like a toxic elixir. The revelation struck with undeniable force—she was not a mere mortal clad in holy vestments. No, she was a being of darkness, a harbinger of unnameable terrors.

Yet, as I recoiled from her presence, my imagination unraveled a wicked tapestry. Within the confines of my mind, a distorted image materialized—a blasphemous fusion of divine and infernal. Jesus, distorted and twisted, adorned with a crown of horns. Arcs of electric energy gripped his hair, yanking it back in a torturous dance.

In that moment, the boundaries between reality and nightmare blurred, and I found myself teetering on the precipice of a horrifying revelation. The veil that concealed the true nature of our existence, of the forces that lurked in the depths of the unseen, was thinning. An unspeakable truth lingered just beyond reach, threatening to unravel the very fabric of my perception.

My mind, a playground for the macabre, plunged deeper into the rabbit hole, consumed by a cocktail of terror and fascination. For what lay before me was not a mere encounter with a demon, but a glimpse into a distorted realm where angels wore horns, and electricity harnessed the hair of divine figures.

In the face of such malevolent majesty, I trembled, my fragile sense of reality hanging by a thread. The world I once knew had shattered, leaving behind fragments of my shattered psyche. How could one reconcile the unfathomable horrors that lurked beneath the veneer of our existence?

The answers, like whispers in the dark, eluded me, but I knew one thing for certain—what I had witnessed would forever haunt the recesses of my soul, etching a tale of cosmic terror that would forever leave me trembling in the embrace of the unknown.

Something Is Wrong With Her Face

People are ecstatic. Oprah is coming to our building. I know beforehand that something is wrong with her. In fact, I am afraid to look at her face. Oprah arrives and walks up onto the stage in the auditorium. I am walking the halls around the auditorium, but I can see her through windows and openings. Something is wrong with her face. Every time I look, it becomes more and more contorted.

I walk away from the gathering and toward the end of the building, which is a castle. My sister, Morgan, appears. We need to fight an evil queen that resides up a set of concrete stairs. We enter the queen's throne room. I have been here once before, but Morgan has not. To me, the queens' appearance is frightening. She appears as a nine-foot, purple dragon with a tail. Standing next to her is a ghost of herself. To Morgan, the queen seems reasonable. I assume that every time one sets their eyes on the queen, she changes and deteriorates into something more sinister.

We don't end up fighting the dragon but instead talk to her. We leave the throne room and head toward the auditorium. We stop in a storage room where our friends are hiding. Everyone sits around a white table. We are the only ones who see something wrong with Oprah's face.

Red Fog

I'm inside a mysterious mansion with a few other people. We begin walking at one point and move to another. The attic? The basement? There is no way to be sure. We begin to roam. No matter how many rooms, hallways, or doorways we travel through, we never find an exit.

A strangeness follows us. I'm not sure if we see it. It could be a person. Or an illusion. Maybe a haunting. Our pace quickens to an urgent jog. New rooms. Hallways. Doorways. We never end up anyplace with a conclusion. As long as we walk, the mansion shows us more. Like a lizard growing a new tail, the estate grows a new room. Hallway. Doorway.

I come to an indoor balcony. I look down hoping to find an answer. I cannot see the ground through the red fog. We never find our way out. As far as anyone knows, we are still there.

The Scent Of Horror

A group of my fellow high school students is spending a few days at a retreat in the hills. There is a mine track rollercoaster that tours guests through the woodland ridges. My brother-in-law built the coaster and tells me it's dangerous. A few of us pile in a cart and start up the giant hill. When we get to the top, there is another small hill before the significant drop. Joseph, the teenager, sitting next to me, leans back exaggeratedly far. He doesn't see the next hill coming. When the cart takes the mound, Joseph's head hits the track, and he begins to fall out. I try to pull him back inside, but it's too late. Joseph lies on the route with a severe head injury. The cart malfunctions and starts rolling backward. Joseph is run over. He is dead. While in shock, I try to call Chad to inform him of the situation. I tell him to stop the mine carts on the track. My frantic fingers cannot find his number in my phone. The next cart rolls along and runs over Joseph's body. I see Chad standing on a boulder. I inform him of our situation. The roller coaster comes to a standstill. We get off of the ride.

"This ride is dangerous!" I yell to Chad. Heated, he yells, "I told you it was dangerous!"

Standing on the ground, I can see paramedics carrying joseph's body down on a gurney. I can't look. I turn and walk away. As dusk approaches, most of the guests have left the retreat. I call my mom and ask her to pick me up. I'm standing next to a cabin where the female guests stayed. A car pulls up. I assume a guest is picking up their belongings, so I walk away. As the sky is dark and the retreat is still, my mom shows up. Chad tells her what happened. While the scent of horror is still in the air, we drive home.

Commando

I can transport from my current home to the house I lived in ten years ago. All I have to do to initiate transportation is to blink.

One night, I am walking through my current house. Some of the lights are on, but not many. The backlight turns off on its own. It's probably a raccoon or groundhog. I step to the back door to check and see a man standing a few feet from the door. I walk to the front room. Suddenly, I've transported to the other house three hours away. I walk to the large family room window. Across the street is a cornfield. To keep the local vermin known as children away from the crop, the farmer erected a fence. I see a naked man struggling to climb the barrier. When he finally makes it over, he begins walking toward me.

I grab a pair of binoculars and have a stakeout in my living room. My mom is here with me. I try to focus to see the man. Something catches my eye, but it isn't him. Just outside the front window, I planted a garden. My corn is around ten feet high. It is June at the moment. They say knee-high by the fourth of July. Dream ends.

Death and Decay

Everyone is dying. My family. Friends. It has something to do with sex. The sickness is spread through sex. Similar to "IT FOLLOWS." My mom doesn't want me to see her die, so she hugs me and leaves. She dies alone in a hotel room. I watch as the people in my house slowly go the way of the reaper. The sickness hasn't found me. And it never will. I decide that it's time to leave. It's hard to choose what to bring with me. I have so many books. I can't bring them all. I look and see books written by J. R. R Tolkien sitting on my dresser. In the end, I travel light.

I know of a group of people living near Terre Haute, Indiana. I think I'll go there. The men there are builders. They use Minecraft blocks to build their structures and vehicles. I grab an antenna and a walkie talkie in case someone is alive out there and sending out a signal. I drive away from death and decay. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Room For Rent

Nightmare 4/25/2018

My friends Holly, Lynn and I have just finished a semester of university. Holly has secured me a room in a house full of guys, also strangers. Lynn has furnished the apartment. I go to the house to see it. It is tiny and cluttered, but I like that.

After the girls leave, I check out the room some more and realize that there is a door in the back. It opens to a staircase leading down. I walk the stairs and find a kitchen right out of the 1950s with red and white checkered tile floors. I walk into another room and find a man cave of sorts.

I walk through another door, and I am outside but under the house. The house is set up like a coastal home. The first floor is on stilts in case of a hurricane. I walk to one side of the down under and notice my neighbor behind a fence doing a funny dance. I can only hear the noise of their feet pattering the ground. In some odd way, I find it unsettling.

I walk back to my room. Since I am alone, I check out the rest of the house. I am suddenly overcome with a sense of fear. I don't feel alone, but I don't feel as if the person with me is human or sound. The place I am living in is scaring me. I don't see anything, but I can feel it. I should leave, but I don't. Dream ends.

Bang! Bang!

Nightmare 1.17.2018

I go to my dialysis treatment, like I do every other day, like I have for the past four years. During this treatment, I am given a lunch break, which I spend sitting in my Jeep. Out of the woods behind the clinic, comes a man and a woman. The woman walks several steps behind the man. The man walks in a suspicious manner. Like he's been taking speed. The way in which he walks and the look of his face reminds me of someone I worked with several years ago. A man who unsettled me. A man whose cogs weren't all spinning at the same tempo. A man who openly told me that he beat his wife and laughed about it. No remorse appearing on his drugged face.

I watch the couple in the darkened parking lot walk past my Jeep and toward the McDonald's and gas station. Not long after that, I return to treatment. I can't help but acknowledge a creeping thought in my mind that I will see the man from the parking lot again. But this time in a more troubling fashion.

My seat in the clinic is facing a window to the outside. The window looks out to an apartment complex. The apartment building is very close to the clinic, only fifteen feet or so. Something dramatic is happening in one of the apartments. A small crowd gathers at the front door. Someone is having a medical emergency. I expect to see an ambulance at any time. My nurse has told me that I will have a short treatment today due to the holiday. I won't put up a fuss over that.

I see the man from the parking lot. He walks in front of a window in the clinic, puts a gun to his chin, aimed up and pulls the trigger. Everyone in the clinic witnesses his death. A new girl at the clinic walks near me and I tell her to take me off of the machine, to end my treatment. She tells me that she won't do that because I just started. This pisses me off because I know that I've been running for at least two hours and the nurse told me it would be a short treatment. I continue arguing with the new girl elevating my discourse to cussing. She refuses.

A police officer walks next to my chair, raises a shotgun at the patient behind me and shoots. I know I am next. Somehow, I manage to unhook myself from the machine and get free. I don't think I am shot. Dream ends.

The Underground

Nightmare 1.1.2018

My mother and I visit the cinema to see a scary movie. The movie feels real. As if we are there. In fact, we are in some way. At one point we are with a team of scientists and military in a forgotten underground that is seemingly haunted. The scientists know there is an evil presence down here. They study in one area. My mom and I disappear for a second. When we come back to the underground area, the scientists are gone. I look around and see scientific equipment working. I immediately understand that the evil presence is about to show up. Although this is a movie, I know that somehow it is real. I tell my mom to log off right now. She does so. I watch her disappear in front of my eyes. Just as my mom disappears, the evil presence appears as a dash of white light. I run down the hall and find the scientists and the military.

We walk back toward the entrance. Someone is complaining about me being here. A scientist woman responds that down in the underground she has met ghosts and giants, so me being here doesn't seem like a big deal.

Back to reality, I'm sitting in a movie theater, although it is very small. The size of a single office space. Only one other person is viewing the movie alongside me. An older woman. We never speak. Just a few polite glances. At 7:30, I am ready to walk out of the movie. I feel bad that my mom is waiting outside. Just then, an usher walks in and tells us that they've corrected the movie. I didn't know anything was wrong with it. I sit back down and finish the movie.

When the screening is over, I walk out to a fast food restaurant where my mom is waiting. I order food, chicken tenders.

We arrive at an underground terminal on a subway train. We leave our luggage in the train cars because we are staying the night in the terminal. It really scares me to walk out, late at night, to the trains. The lights are off, the air is cold and everything is quiet. I run out there real quick to grab something and I run back to the terminal. Later on, I play with the control buttons and move some of the trains forward on the tracks. When I walk back to the terminal, I see a bunch of friends from high school. We hang out for a minute in an arcade in the terminal. Dream ends.

Exorcism

Nightmare 10/16/2017

My mom, a few classmates and I are driving several hours away to a retreat. Half of my school is already there. We are driving in an RV that will house a few students when we arrive. On the way there, one of the students in the RV becomes possessed by a demon. He lunges at me. I grab him and say, "In the name of Jesus Christ, I command you to leave." I do this several times until the demon is gone. Then, another student is taken over by a demon. Same thing. He chases after me as I say to him, "Out in the name of Jesus!" This happens several times on the way to the retreat. I know they are possessed when the color in their eyes disappear and all that is left is a black dot.

I know that we are there when a few new students climb aboard the RV. It is night. I walk down a road where several students are walking, including my sister Kristen. One student becomes possessed. My sister stands up to him. He grabs her and performs a suplex. Kristen lands on her head. I swear she is injured badly. I speak the name of Jesus Christ to the demon. I don't know what happens to the possessed man. Kristen is not hurt at all. Dream ends.

Freddy

Nightmare 7/25/2017

My mom and me are shopping at Target. She tells me that she needs to use the restroom. I tell her to hurry up because we are planning to see "Dunkirk" at the movie theater and we can't be late. In the men's clothing section, I take off my shirt and hang it up on a rack. I hope that nobody steals it. I walk back to the back corner of the store to see if my mom is done. When I arrive at the restrooms, I see a line of women. My mom still hasn't used the restroom and by the look of the line, it's gonna take awhile. She suggests we just see the movie Thursday instead. I'm disappointed. I was really anticipating this movie. While still waiting for my mom, I walk down an aisle that contains claw machines and other arcade games. I then see a man with a fedora and a green and red striped sweater. His skin is badly burnt. I recognize him. Freddy Krueger. He says something to me but I blow him off. He gets angry at first but then walks away sad.

My sister is living at a friends house. The house has many people living in it. I am going to stay there awhile. I ask her where the restroom is but then I see one just off from her room. She says that I shouldn't use that one because it belongs to another girl. I should use the family bathroom.

A group of us are walking into a building, however, I can't be sure what building it is. I take on a girls point of view. I walk through double doors. I am in a completely different place. When I look back, the double doors are gone along with the group of friends that came here with me. The place I am now in looks like it was decorated by Chuck E. Cheese. I walk down several carpeted flights of stairs. Nobody is here. This place is void of life. Although, I feel someone watching me. I think I even know who it is. Freddy Krueger. I realize that I am inside a dream. I see him. He comes for me with his razor sharp blades. He blows air from his mouth my direction and I am swept away as I found myself inside a tornado. Dream ends.

I wake up.

The Demon In The Shed

Nightmare 7/19/2017

I've joined a two month long internship. The internship takes place at a house in the country. My job is to make calls to people although I don't know why I am calling them. I stand in a dimly lit bathroom, looking at myself in the mirror with a headset on my head making calls. Someone picks up on the other line. I start to tell them that I am a representative from Global Expeditions, then I hang up. I forgot. Global Expeditions was the last internship that I attended. I still can't remember the reasoning for calling people.

Some girls from the internship run inside the house. They say we need to come with them. We walk outside. At this point it is night. They lead us to an old shed about fifty yards from the house. They open the door. We all feel something sinister here. We know there is a ghost or demon inside, hiding somewhere in the darkness. I speak. Suddenly a gust of wind inside the shed blows and there appears two figures. We quickly slam the door and run.

Later on, we talk about what we saw. One of the interns believes that one or two people need to stay the night in the shed. I don't see the purpose in that idea.

Days later, the demon in the shed has possessed everyone in the internship but me. We are in another building now. Everyone acts like the demons from "The Evil Dead." They won't let me leave. At one point, all the interns leave the room but lock the door behind them. I find a couple of old fashioned brass keys. I try one. It doesn't fit. I try another. It turns. The door unlocks. I am free.

I quietly make my way down the hall and out the front door. I steal a snowmobile out front. Although it isn't snowing, the vehicle seems to be moving along at a rapid speed. I drive for miles and miles until the snowmobile stops working. Then, I see someone from the internship. It is a robot. He looks human due to the skin and exoskeleton but he is not at all human. He helps me fix the vehicle. I guess demons can't possess robots. He tells me that everyone back at the internship is okay now. I climb back onto the snowmobile and ride away. Dream ends.

Monster 2

Nightmare 5/17/2017

There is a boy at my school who is the same age as me. Something is wrong with his brain. He is a little slower than most people. I come to find out that he once killed a person.

After school, I go over to the elementary building where my mom works. I have to wait for an hour for my mom to finish her work. While sitting in my mom's office, I see the boy with brain problems enter the office. At first, I am cautious and I talk with him, just a little, but then I realize that he is wildly dangerous. I run back to my mom's office and tell her that we have to go to the back room and call the police. We go to the back room. There is a window that separates the office from the back room. We can still see the boy.

I lock the door both on the doorknob, the deadbolt, and the chain lock, but the chain lock is flimsy, it probably won't do much good. The boy comes to the door and tries to get in. I remind my mom of how dangerous this situation is but she doesn't seem to understand. She keeps working. I think I see the boy holding a knife. We both try calling the police but neither of our phones has service. We move to the window in the room, trying to get just one or two bars. Eventually, the boy's mom comes in and calms the situation. Nightmare ends.

Dialysis Massacre

Nightmare 4/1/2017

I'm inside a dialysis center. My treatment is going when my nurse practitioner asks the other nurses and techs if the police are dealing with the situation outside. He talks about it like he is trying to hide something from us. As time goes by, we come to realize that there are several men outside with guns shooting at people. The police have arrived and are trying to defuse the situation.

At one point, we are told to get down on the floor and not to move. I am lying in between two other men, one is Chinese. At one point, I lift my head up and look over at the window. I see one of the gunmen with his face up against the outside of the window looking in. I immediately freeze in fear. I try to stay down and not move a muscle. BOOM!!! He shoots inside the room. I hear the gun go off several times. He is shooting at the dialysis patients. BOOM!!! the man beside me gets shot. I am waiting for the bullet to hit me. BOOM!!! A bullet hits me in the lower left side of my back.

After several minutes of terror, the police finally take down the gunmen. When I walk outside I tell someone that I've been shot. I can feel it when I rub my fingers across my back. It feels like a bump but I can actually feel the bullet inside of me. The person asks me why I haven't told anyone until now that I was shot. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Prom Nightmare

Nightmare 2/25/2017

A large gathering of students is taking place at the local high school. I believe it's prom although nobody is dressed up. A group of guys from my class (some of which are friends) pull guns from their coats and start firing at the students. I run to a stairwell and hide myself while I call 911. After I get off the phone I make a run for the entrance of the school but for some reason make my way down into the basement instead. I walk through a maze of hallways in the dank, dusty under-structure of the school. Behind me I can hear the shooters, they're all walking down the stairs. I hide in a dark alcove and hope they don't find me.

They do. But they don't seem to mind me being there. Perhaps it's because I am friends with many of them. Screech Powers, from "Saved By The Bell," is the leader of their group.

I pull out a guitar and start to play. I listen to their plans. They have rigged bombs in the basement to blow. The whole school will collapse on itself. They're going for the Eric and Dylan bombs in the Columbine cafeteria strategy, however, this time it may work. They plan on dying, all of them. I don't. After playing the guitar for a while, I make up an excuse to leave. I say, "I'll be right back, I need to go get a pick, my thumb is starting to hurt from strumming." They don't seem to mind at first, but as I make my way through the maze of tunnels and hallways of the basement, I suddenly hear them behind me. I run back up the stairs to the entrance of the school.

The police are here, but before I can tell them what the killers plan to do, the bombs start to blow. I run as fast as my body will allow, as far as I can away from the school. When I look back I see the whole building in a blaze of fire. I don't see anybody outside of the building. I must be the only one who made it.

I run to a nearby neighbors house to call the police again. He takes me into his cellar where I meet a friend who I haven't seen for years. Eventually, we leave the cellar and go about our business. Dream ends.

I wake up.

The Dancing Man

A Nightmare From My Past

One dark night, my mother is driving home.

She drives lonely roads lined with corn and bean fields. Off in the distance, in the middle of a field, she sees a light. As she focuses her gaze, she sees a man. He is dancing. Not elegant dancing, SCARY DANCING!!! His moves point to his insanity. Who is he? Why is he there? Why does he dance? He knows she is watching and that is the point. Dream ends.

Monster

Nightmare 4/8/2015

My friends and I come to school on a Saturday.

We hang out and play games together. Their is about ten of us. A guy from our school is here. We didn't invite him. We think he's weird. His name is Joe. He tries to hang out with us at times during the day and other times he wonders off by himself. Every once in a while we can hear him down the halls talking to himself.

Joe walks into the room that we are hanging out in. He demands out attention. He tells us that at 6:00 PM he is going to murder every one of us. Then he exits the room. His statement surprises us but Joe's a weird guy, it's what you'd expect from a weird guy. As the day goes on, Joe reminds us several more times about our fate at six o'clock. We become uneasy about him. It wasn't just an offhanded comment, he really is going to do something. All of us try to leave the school but the doors won't budge. We try all of them. The windows won't open either. It's as if a spell has been cast over the school and we have no say in the matter.

Six o'clock is approaching fast and we feel that we have to do something about Joe. We find a pair of handcuffs and throw them around Joe's wrists. I start to feel uncomfortable about the situation. Joe is too calm. It scares me. I make a call to my sister. She comes and opens one of the windows. I climb out. We leave the area. Many of the others call people and inform them of the situation. Lots of people come to the school but not before six o'clock happens.

All I know is what I hear through the grapevine. Four people dead. Two of them were good friends of mine. Their bodies, unrecognizable. They didn't even look human when he was done with them. He did it with his mouth. Dream ends.

Dark Hallways

Nightmare 3/6/2015

It's night. I'm at my old high school. Other than the two friends with me, there is nobody here. I think.

Inside the dark hallways of the school is an elevated tram. We step onto the tram and it begins to move. A loud noise from below frightens us. We look over the tram bars and see a demonic man dressed as a clown with a circular saw as a hand.

He chases the tram. He reaches up with his saw hand to hurt us. Several of us get slashed and cut. I tell my friends that I don't want to be here anymore. I take out my smartphone and push exit. A loading bar appears. It takes way too long.

I jump from the tram and make a run for the exit. I make it out of the school. My friends don't. Dream ends.

The Demon Hunter

Dream 10/28/2014

I'm running around the city at night when I get a call from Brian Warner, aka Marilyn Manson. He tells me that he needs help. A blue, ghost-like mist creature with a grandma voice, his words, is following him.
The reason he is calling me for help is because my friend Sam is a demon hunter. More of a charity. People call him for help and he goes and murders the demon that is trying to murder the voice on the other side of the phone.

So I start running toward Sam and I call him as well. He picks up the phone. I tell him that Marilyn Manson called and he needs his help. As I'm talking to Sam, I look behind me and notice a blue, ghost-like mist following me. I increase my speed.

I know where Marilyn is staying. I'm about to pass his place but I don't stop because I have a sneaking suspicion that he is possessed by now. As I pass I look. You know in the Exorcist after the girl with the demon inside of her kills the one priest and the other priest is watching her. She is sitting up on her knees throwing her arms in the air and growling into the sky, that's what Marilyn was doing, so incidentally, I kept running.

Eventually, I find Sam on a beach near a bridge. We start going over the game plan. He tells me that he wishes he would've given more of his business cards out to people. Dream ends

Clouds

A Nightmare From My Past

I'm In a van with several members of my familyEverybody moves toward the windows and looks up into the sky. I look up as well. Across the sky are the clouds with faces that you see in Super Mario Bros. I look back at my family. They're making chilling noises. The expressions on their faces aren't normal. It's as if they've been riddled with brain damage. I become frightened. Dream ends.

I wake up.
