The Time Traveler

Dream 2/22/2016

I am in love with a girl named Beth.

The only issue is that she's eighteen years older than me. So I time travel back to where we would be about the same age. She is both a judge and a contestant on American Idol. I go and watch a taping of the show. When you're up on the stage it's so unbelievable, so unforgettable how they adore you. I watch her and fall more in love with each passing minute.

The show is then interrupted by a voice coming over the intercom. "Attention, ladies and gentlemen, we have just received information that a plane has hit the world trade center." Some ARMY guys are sitting in the row behind me. I can hear them saying, "no, no, it can't be true." Oh it is, I've been here before, I know it all too well. In a few more minutes, they're gonna come back on the intercom and tell you that the other tower has been struck by yet another airplane. Then, when you think it's all over, the voice would come on again telling you to pray for our country because the pentagon has been hit. We're under attack. The towers would fall, taking several other buildings with them, thousands would be dead, the country would be in a panic. You would question whether it was going to stop. Oh God, dear God, how did I time travel back to September 11, 2001. Why did I come back to this awful day.

I follow Beth outside. Her husband is there with her. I flirt with her. She doesn't seem to notice. Dream ends.

Dream 2/20/2016

I am a meth cook.

I own a large piece of property. I have a building in the back. That's where I cook. I let the grass grow so my place is harder to see.

I hire a new guy to help out in the day to day operations. His name is Gale Boetticher. Together we cook meth. One day, I come in to work and find my wife dead and her body mutilated, lying at the feet of Gale. He has a gun in his hand and a smile on his face. I grab my gun as quick as I can. I shoot and kill Gale. I look at my wife. her body doesn't look human. It looks like an animal carcass that's been decaying and the neighborhood animals have been feasting on for some time.

I walk out to the road. There's a couple buildings out here. A bunch of druggies hang out. I chill with them. I show them my product. I tell them, "I'm the cook." I should ask them to say my name. Dream ends.

Homecoming

Dream 2/19/2016

Tonight is homecoming.

My old school is doing a celebration of all the classes together including those who have graduated. I'm getting ready at my house. I am in the upstairs bathroom. My mom is downstairs. All of a sudden, my phone turns on by itself and starts playing an audio clip (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Sgc1I9sjfc). The clip is an audio sound byte of a supposed woman astronaut that Russia sent into space in 1961. Her space flight encountered problems and her capsule went up in flames. The clip is a recording of her last moments. It is unsettling. It scares me. I run downstairs. My mom is moving an old camper out back. I finish getting ready in the camper bathroom.

I have to be at homecoming by 8 o'clock. I look at my watch. It's 7:56. I stress out and start yelling at my mom, telling her that we need to leave now!

The school crowds all of its students and alumni onto risers in the gymnasium. My nephews are in pre-k and kindergarten. They stand in front. The school has made food for us but they didn't make enough. They say the alumni can eat first. I grab a bowl and bring it over to my nephews. I let them eat from it. Dream ends.

King Kong

Dream 2/15/2016

Me and three other friends are putting on three plays for an audience.

Mike, from Breaking Bad, picks us up in his car and takes us to a hotel where we are to perform. The first play is outside on a stage. I didn't even look at my lines. I have the script with me. We struggle through the first two skits. The final skit takes place on the roof of the hotel. I ask my sister if she'll be in it. She agrees.

We get to the roof and there is no audience. The show must go on! We start to perform. King Kong appears on the roof. He picks up my sister and throws her off the building. She lands in the river. I tell Kong that he wasn't supposed to do that. I can see in his face that he feels bad. He climbs down the building and swims to where she is. He brings her back. We continue the play for the audience that isn't there. Dream ends.

Barbecue

Dream 2/12/2016

I've returned to the Honor Academy.

I walk through the campus and see friends who I haven't seen for seven years. I meet new people as well. I start questioning the decision to return. Maybe I should've gone to Bethel instead.

My family comes to pick me up. We stop near a hospital and start grilling out on the grass. I go for a walk for a moment of solitude. I look back at the barbecue site and see black smoke billowing up. I run to where my brother-in-law was grilling and find my mom's Prius destroyed by fire.

We drive away. The fire has spread from the barbecue site to the hospital.

We pass oncoming fire trucks as we go. We see lines of people evacuating from the building. Hundreds of people watch from the street as the hospital goes up in flames. Dream ends.

The Gates of Hell

Dream 2/10/2016

Tim, Josh and I walk down a dark hallway. There is a light at the end.

At the end of the hallway are four doors and four switches. It is a puzzle. We must hit the switches in the right order to get through. We figure it out. Suddenly, we are in an arcade. Video games everywhere. I play a basketball game. The game is curved instead of straight. I miss every shot. Tim and Josh move on to the next level. I don't want to miss anything so I stay. The next group of people enter the arcade. I miss Tim and Josh so I move on to the next level.

Suddenly I am in a house where every room has a table with junk food on it. In this house, there is no discernible path from A to B, it's several paths all leading to rooms with a table with junk food on top (Think of the food scene from the movie "Hook").

Eventually, I find a stairway leading down. I enter I giant room with white walls. Inside this room are several small rooms with no ceiling. Inside these small rooms are portals. I know of a girl that went missing by jumping through a giant red portal in the back. It is said that the red portal only leads to one place, Hell. I am not supposed to be in this place, as there are guards patrolling the area. All of a sudden, the girl that went missing grabs my hand and starts leading me to the back of the room without being caught by the guards. We make it to the room. In front of us lies a giant portal with what looks like red electricity and fire. We enter. Dream ends.

Megalodon

Dream 2/9/2016

I am swimming in the deep ocean.

This is a game but I am here. I search the waters for sharks. Each shark I discover is bigger than the last. I stand on the ocean floor when a hole opens up and lets out an enormous air pocket. Billions of bubbles rise to the surface. Just then, through the tower of bubbles swims a Megalodon. I am so scared, I can't think or move. He swims over me. Dream ends

The Practice

Dream 2/8/2016

Girls from my class are playing a pickup game of basketball. I decide to join in on the fun.

As I'm playing, I look over to the bleachers and see my baseball coach, Mr. Allen. I walk over to him. He tells me that he has a special baseball glove for me and he wants me to be his relief pitcher in the 9th inning. The glove is quite small and is covered in Velcro. My friend, Tim, tells me that we should go practice.

We board a school bus and take off looking for a nice patch of land to throw the ball around. We drive through some poverty stricken neighborhoods and then drive out to the country. All we see are corn fields and the occasional 100 year old barn with the roof caved in. We find a place to practice next to an abandoned house. The house looks like it was burned up in a fire. We explore. We encounter ghosts of the people who used to live here. The ghosts are hostile. Dream ends.

The Art of War

Dream 2/7/2016

I've joined America's ARMY. They've shipped me off to a foreign land. I'm not sure what country I'm in. All I know is I am near Germany.

I'm heading up a team of undercover agents. They fill several seats apart from each other in a European diner. The mission is undisclosed. I walk down the aisle of the diner eyeing every agent. Speaking with a look. They know what to do.  Bullets shred through the diner walls leaving dust and debris everywhere. We've been compromised. The agents get up and try to escape. I help everyone that I can.

I walk through the barracks and find my bed. I lie down. The Soldiers are called to attention. I stay in bed. I peek through my covers and see the soldiers standing like statues at the end of their beds. The leader walks in. He questions why I am in bed. The others vouch for me being sick.

My kidneys don't work so I have to dialyze my blood. My nurse, Laurie, is here, she too is a soldier. A nurse I have never seen comes to my bedside and shoves a needle the size of a roofing nail into my arm. It's clear she doesn't know my access as she is pushing the needle in the wrong direction. She gives up and tells me to do it myself. I ask Laurie to do it. She comes over and fixes what the other nurse royally screwed up. Blood starts pumping through the line.

We are all awakened by the sound of gunfire. I undo my dialysis lines. The needle is still in my arm. I grab a handgun and move toward the window where Laurie has a sniper rifle. We start taking out men who encroach on our position. I find that my handgun is not effective for long range. I grab a rifle and one man at a time, I shoot. I kill many of them. We fight until the job is done. Dream ends

Popcorn

Dream 2/5/2016

I'm out on the town with some friends when I see two girls from my church walk into a Michael's. I leave my friends to pursue the girls. I spot them in a checkout line which is really a "check in" line because the Michael's is actually a movie theater. I say hi to the girls. They don't seem to care. They are very heavy set and not very attractive. One of them is prettier than the other. I don't know if I am pursuing her because I'm slightly attracted to her or because I feel that she has no friends and I feel sorry for her. They buy a ticket for a movie called, "Pilgrim." I've never heard of it but I buy a ticket as well.

I buy a tub of popcorn, because you can't very well watch a movie without a buttered tub of popcorn. I walk into the theater. It's big and crowded. One of those theaters that you used to see a lot more of, the one with a balcony and a ton of chairs. I walk down one aisle but I don't see them. I start down another when I spot them in the back. I sit with them. They don't seem pleased. The movie starts. It's a cartoon but boring as hell. I can see why I never heard of it. All we need now is angry moviegoers throwing buttered popcorn at the screen.

The girls invite me back to their place. They are having a bunch of people sleepover. On the way there they talk about video games they play. The games they are talking about are twenty years old, it's as if they haven't discovered the newer PS4 or XBOX1. We get to their house and it is a mansion. It looks like a fancy hotel. The girls have four swimming pools in their bedroom. One pool for each sibling. I am in shock. This was a surprise ending. Dream ends.

Gatti's

Dream 2/5/2016

My mom and I are walking down a street when she sees a hang out spot that she remembers from when she was a teenager. The place is called "Gatti's." The sign is scrambled with letters, a person could hardly make out the name. We walk inside.

The place is crowded with people hungry for pizza. Not an empty table in sight. We walk through the restaurant. My mom remembers what it was like to be young. We walk down a set of stairs to the basement.

We come upon a gymnasium full of people. Everyone is cheering in the stands. A man walks onto a stage and waves to the crowd. The cheers rise even more. The man tells jokes. My mom and I walk over to the stage to get a better view.

When the man is done, we leave. Outside we run into a familiar face. I tell them that they have to try Gatti's. Dream ends.
