Waverly Hills

Venturing into the eerie depths of Waverly Hills Sanatorium, my companions and I weave through the dilapidated remnants of what was once a bastion of healing. This place, with its dark history and whispered tales of spectral hauntings, holds a reputation as one of the most haunted locations in the world.

Through broken doorways and along crumbling corridors, we traverse the decaying labyrinth that time has forgotten. These weathered walls bear the weight of countless stories, the echoes of suffering and anguish lingering in every gust of wind.

Rooms upon rooms reveal themselves to our curious eyes, each with its own macabre tale to tell. The ravages of time have left their indelible mark, reducing this once grand establishment to a mere ghost of its former self.

Yet, amidst the debris and decay, we stumble upon a sight that captures our attention—a shattered statue, the remnants of a monkey frozen in a permanent state of destruction. Some have dubbed it "The Monkey King," a moniker that carries an air of both reverence and foreboding.

As I gaze upon this twisted relic, I cannot help but wonder about the secrets it guards. Was it a symbol of mischief and playfulness, or does it carry a darker significance, a portal to the otherworldly? The absence of ghosts may deceive the senses, for this forsaken place holds secrets that lie beyond the realm of the visible.

Whispers of forgotten tragedies resonate within these crumbling walls, even if their apparitions elude our mortal gaze. The absence of specters does not diminish the palpable weight of the past, nor does it quell the uneasy sensation crawling up my spine.

In this desolate chamber, where the monkey's shattered visage looms like a grim specter of the past, I find myself ensnared in a web of curiosity and trepidation. The absence of ghosts may deceive, but beneath the surface of this forsaken abode, a maelstrom of forgotten souls and dormant spirits awaits its moment to materialize.

Waverly Hills Sanatorium, a place where the boundaries between the living and the dead blur, holds its secrets close. And as we wander through its desolate halls, the sense of anticipation grows, for the truth, like a slumbering beast, waits for the opportune moment to stir from its restless sleep.

A Whiter Shade

Dream 9.22.2018

I'm staying inside a house that is haunted. The owner of the house tells me that wherever a person goes inside the house to do an activity, a ghost will appear. I find this to be true, especially in the upstairs family room.

The ghosts become hostile. I run outside and down the street and realize the neighborhood is a ghost town. Nobody is here but me. There is a house near the end of the road. I feel that I need to get inside. There doesn't seem to be a front door to this house. I climb up onto a boulder and eventually reach a window. When inside, I realize that this house belongs to a family that went to my high school. They return home to find me inside. They don't seem to be unnerved by it.

One of the daughters, Lindsey and I, try to solve the haunting, whatever that means. We grab some miscellaneous objects and run out into a snowy field. Dream ends.

Room For Rent

Nightmare 4/25/2018

My friends Holly, Lynn and I have just finished a semester of university. Holly has secured me a room in a house full of guys, also strangers. Lynn has furnished the apartment. I go to the house to see it. It is tiny and cluttered, but I like that.

After the girls leave, I check out the room some more and realize that there is a door in the back. It opens to a staircase leading down. I walk the stairs and find a kitchen right out of the 1950s with red and white checkered tile floors. I walk into another room and find a man cave of sorts.

I walk through another door, and I am outside but under the house. The house is set up like a coastal home. The first floor is on stilts in case of a hurricane. I walk to one side of the down under and notice my neighbor behind a fence doing a funny dance. I can only hear the noise of their feet pattering the ground. In some odd way, I find it unsettling.

I walk back to my room. Since I am alone, I check out the rest of the house. I am suddenly overcome with a sense of fear. I don't feel alone, but I don't feel as if the person with me is human or sound. The place I am living in is scaring me. I don't see anything, but I can feel it. I should leave, but I don't. Dream ends.

Mardi Vegas

Dream 3/22/2018

I'm in a dormitory. Each room is set up like a child's room. The lighting in each room looks as if it's lit by a lava lamp. My friend has a dresser with a TV sitting on top. On the TV is a map. If I place my hand on the furniture, I can fast travel to any location on the map. In the middle of the map is an island. It is a place where the worlds of Las Vegas and Mardi Gras collide. I choose to go there. The teleportation does not work. I am still in the dorm.

I walk to the room across from my friend's. I look in the closet. Covering the shelves are snakes. I throw something at them to see if they are real. When the object hits them, they start to move.

I put my hand on another dresser. I look at the map and choose a location about eight hours away from my previous choice.

I teleport. This time it works.

This new place is more isolated, more spooky, more dead. There is a nearby haunted house. I've been there before. My purpose is to make it to my previous choice, the Las Vegas/Mardi Gras choice and to become their evil leader. It takes eight hours, but I finally make it to my destination. Dream ends.

The Dead End

Nightmare 12.8.2017

I am living in what I can only guess is a submarine or an old, turn-of-the-century steamer. The hallways are dark and cold. The floors and walls are metal. The ship isn't necessarily abandoned but it's also not beaming with life.

I pick my own room. I choose a room and decorate it. I've turned a bland, colorless room into a cool man cave. It's a place in which any man would be proud. There are three doors in my room. The main door leads to the rest of the ship, where everyone else exists. Another door leads to a large conference room that nobody uses anymore. The last door, leads to a corner of the ship, a dead end, that has been forgotten. I regret choosing this area to make my room because of the door that leads to that dead end, dark, scary corner of the ship.

I have my mom over to show her my room. She is impressed. She is happy for me. I tell her that I have six or seven other bedrooms. The door to the dead end is open. The light from my room illuminates part of the hallway but quickly fades to darkness. In the midst of smiles and laughter, I glance down the dark hallway and see a black mass. A monster staring back at me. I grab my mom and we run. We run toward the part of the ship where everyone else exists. Where there is life again. Closing and locking every possible door behind us.

We hide quietly in a random room, hoping that the monster will simply pass us by. After a long time, we walk into a room where a high school friend, Korie, lives. The monster is lying on her floor, motionless. It has changed shape into a morbidly obese woman. It looks similar to Ursula from The Little Mermaid. Korie tells us that she sucked the air out of the monster and spit it into the DVD player. Nightmare ends.

The Well

Nightmare 10/29/2017

My family and I have returned to an amusement park in which we've visited many times. It's quaint. Not the best park in the land but my family seems to like it. I walk up to the main door and see a new ride called "The Haunted Mine." I excitedly tell my family that the park has a new ride.

We try out the new attraction. It's a slow roller coaster with few thrills. I'm disappointed. We exit the ride and see an indoor lake with a grassy bar leading around to a well. My family and I walk onto the bar to the well. We look down into it. The bottom is about twenty to thirty feet down. No water at the bottom. My dad stands up onto the well and falls to his death. The rest of my family falls in line. I look down at their still bodies. Deceased. An ache rolls through my chest. Dream ends.

Nightmare Forest

Dream 10/13/2017

I'm on a country road. It is very busy. People are walking here and there, many of them my friends. On one side of the road is a forest. A buddy and I walk into the forest a bit. We get a good look into the vast jungle. What we see is very spooky. It looks like night although it is day. There is a grayish fog in the air that causes the trees to look rather ghostly. We know that this is the only spot that looks like this. The rest of the forest is nice.

I walk down the road and into the forest again. I swear this is the spooky spot that I entered before, although, it doesn't look scary. It is rather peaceful. The sun is shining down through the trees to reveal a calming river running through the woods. On the far side of the river are many log buildings. In the middle of this area is a colossal, dead tree. The limbs and branches that hang from it are larger than normal. This tree has seen many years come and go. I ask a nearby person if this is the spooky area. They ask the boy that is running the place. I don't get an answer.

Another friend of mine, Jordan, brings me to different part of the forest. He pulls back a branch so I can see. I look and see the gray fog and ghostly trees. It is almost like a spell has been cast. Fear enters my bones and chokes me up. Dream ends.

I wake up.

The Ghost In The Hall

Nightmare 9/24/2017

My family and I return to a house in Frankton, Indiana in which we used to live. The place seems stale and reeks of ghosts. All of us gathers in my mom and dad's old bedroom. Something is in the hallway. I close the door and lock it. I can see a shadow of something moving around outside the door. Dream ends.

The Storm Outside

Dream 8/18/2017

I am in high school. I hang out in a class that is not my own. I am friends with several guys a few grades below me and I am relaxing in their classroom. The teacher hands out a test. Now I feel like I am part of this class. I take the test near the back of the room. Some of the test is geography while other parts are a completely different subject matter. I guess on most of the questions. In my mind, I am hoping that the teacher takes mercy on me since I've just joined the class. I take my test to a bathroom at the back of the classroom and finish it in there. The bathroom is haunted. I definitely feel a presence here. When I leave the bathroom I hear a few of my friends tell the teacher about the ghost.

A tornado is in the area of the school. The alarms go blaring and classes walk in line formation to their pre-determined areas. The students then sit down with their backs against the walls and their heads between their knees. I've somehow lost my class. I walk around the school looking but cannot find them. A few other students are in the same situation. We decide to skip finding our correct places and sneak down to the basement of the school.

At the bottom of the basement stairs is the boys locker room. We hang out in this area until someone at the top of the stairs turns the lights off. We immediately freak out and run to the top of the stairs to turn the lights back on. We then reconvene in the basement locker room. I've always found the basement of the school frightening. Today is no exception. I wonder to the back of the locker room where there is usually three or four showers that don't work. When I get there, the showers are gone and replaced with a very large bathroom. It's a very nice bathroom with bold colors. Many stalls. Many showers. Well lit. It's like finding Narnia at the back of the wardrobe. The tornado never comes Dream ends.

House of Horrors

Dream 8/16/2017

I am walking through a haunted house. It is a haunted house like you would find at Disney World. We start at the bottom and move from room to room. In each room that we enter, a ghost soon appears. It is a real ghost. At one point, I notice that someone got left a few rooms behind. I leave the group to find this person. I find them in a room with tall ceilings and a balcony. They move on but I stay. I think about how the group that I was once a part of is now so far away from me. I stay here and they keep moving. Dream ends.

Late Night Frights

A Dream From the Past

It's late at night. Far past midnight. Most people are asleep. My sister, brother-in-law and myself are awake and wanting to go for a late night drive.

Driving down the dark, quiet road we see a haunted house. It's the type of place where teenagers and young adults pay to get scared. Inside this particular haunted house is a vampire. All who enter eventually come face to face with the hellion. The house is closed at this time.

We enter anyway. The lobby of the house is an arcade and although the lights are off, the room is lit from the arcade video games. A person is here but I never see his face. He is a stranger to me. He speaks to us. Nothing else happens. The place is closed. Dream ends.

Strange Occurrences

Dream 5/27/2017

My mother and I have returned to my childhood home to live. She is upset. I ask her about where we are going to live because at this moment we own two homes. She tells me that we are going to live here although she doesn't want to because she feels that my dad will hunt her down and kill her.

The living room is quite empty except for a few boxes and bookshelves. I place my many books on the shelves to give them some personality. I walk through the house to find more books. When I return, I find that all of the shelves are broken and the books have fallen through. I ask my mom what happened. Annoyed, she tells me that it broke when I was playing with it. I explain to her that I wasn't playing with it but actually just putting my books onto it.

I tell my mom that I am going to work on my room. I haven't seen my room in years. It's a small room but comfortable. I walk into my bedroom and find that the shelves in this room are broken as well. I attempt to fix the shelves so that I can put my books on them. I have three closets in this room. One of the walls in my room has been destroyed. I can see through to my closet even with the door closed. I notice the closet looks much bigger than it used to. I walk into the closet and find an additional section to this house that didn't exist before.

I walk into this room and find three rooms. They are one big room but three rooms within the one room. The largest room is a pool room with a hot tub in the middle. The two smaller rooms off the side are computer rooms that belong to my sisters. I notice that the water in the hot tub is running. Suddenly, I have the feeling that my house is haunted. I start walking back to the part of the house that my mom is located. As I leave the room, a stream of hot water starts to shoot at my from another part of the room. Now I know my house is haunted. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Ohio State Penitentiary

Dream 3/10/2017

I'm on the way home from a class field trip. While driving through Ohio, we pass Ohio State Penitentiary which is a spooky, abandoned and haunted place. It's a location in which ghost hunters love to investigate because of the history and supposed hauntings. It looks like a large building has fallen over onto the penitentiary and is just lying on top of it like the building in the movie "Cloverfield." As our school bus passes OSP I act as a tour guide and direct everyone's attention to it. I tell them some of the spooky facts about the place.

Up the road a bit is a strawberry tree. One of the girls on the bus tells the driver to stop. She says she always stops to pick strawberries from this exact tree, it's a tradition in her family. She gets out and picks some of the red fruit. She eats some but says they are too bitter. I try one and agree.

My sister, some friends and I escape the bus and walk back to the spooky penitentiary. We make camp in the front room. Most of us stay there because it isn't as scary and there is a TV. A few of the people go off and explore the haunted location. At one point, we hear a knock at the front door. I go and put my face to the floor to see under the door. I see boots. I open the door. There are four people outside who want to explore the penitentiary. Two of them are normal but the other two are dressed as clowns. We let the normal ones in.

While everyone else explores, we stay in the front room and play Super Mario World on our Super Nintendo. At one point, a baby down the hallway starts to cry. It's the child of one of our friends. Dream ends.

The Ebbon Mansion

Nightmare 1/29/17

I enjoy exploring abandoned places, especially scary places. I'm on vacation in Africa with a friends family. There is a mansion here that is famous worldwide for how haunted it is. I have seen videos on youtube of people exploring it. In one video, two men explore the mansion and don't make it out alive.

The father in the family suggests that we go check it out. They are all excited. As much as I like haunted, abandoned places, I do not plan on coming along.

We arrive at the mansion. We walk through a security gate. They have it set up like it's an amusement park ride. One part of the building is normal, they use it for business, it is clean, the electricity works, it's quite nice. But the other part contains the halls where ghosts tread. Grime covers the walls. The lights don't work.

We start in the nice part of the building, sort of looks like a cafeteria mixed with a bookstore. Lots of people are here, awaiting their turn to venture through the dark zone. It gets to be our turn. My nerves are going at a million miles an hour. I do not want to be here. This family has no idea what they have signed up for. We start through the darkness. We end up in a large locker room bathroom. I can't take it anymore. I see a door to the outside. It's heavily locked. I kick it hard and break it down. I jump through to the outside. Some security guards at the gate see me and yell at me.

A woman who works at the Ebbon mansion needs my help. She is an investigator trying to find a thief who is still in the building. We go to the mall part of the mansion where there is three levels, but nobody else is here. We see a lady running. It's the thief. She chases after her, jumping from the third floor to the second floor landing, like James Bond. Dream ends.

The Colosseum

Dream 1/1/17

My class is taking a field trip to Nashville, Tennessee to a building called "the Colosseum."

My cousin DJ is coming along. We take double Decker buses all the way there. When we arrive, the teachers tell us to bring all of our stuff because we may not get the same bus going back. Everyone exits the bus. I stay back along with a few guys for no good reason. I notice that DJ left his stuff. I try to grab it but have trouble holding his stuff and mine at the same time. He comes back and helps me.

We walk to the Colosseum. It's a giant building with roman pillars made of marble in the front. When we get there, we find that the class has divided into two groups and started killing each other. Very similar to "Lord of the Flies." We escape before we get hurt.

Later on inside a haunted house, the old man who lives there says that he's going to take a hot bath. We watch him walk to the top of the stairs. When he gets there, he stops and looks into a bedroom. He mentions that he always hears noises coming from there. We intend to investigate the noises later.

At my house, I look out the window and find that all the cars in the neighborhood are turned over due to a wind storm the night before. I walk out to my driveway and find that my Jeep is not turned over but the soft top has been blown off. I try to put it back on. A lady in my neighborhood walks over to my yard. I'm only wearing underwear. I run into my house and tell her I'll be right back. Her husband, Joe, comes and takes my Jeep. I walk over to his house. He tells me that both of my batteries are damaged and he's going to fix them. Dream ends.

The Dark Road Home

Dream 6/18/2016

A few of my classmates and me are coming back from a field trip.

We stop at a gas station. The teacher asks me to go in and get her a bottle of Bud Light and a pack of ice. I go inside and look for both items. I look through all the beer and can't find one bottle of Bud Light. I ask an employee for help. He points to a refrigerator at the end of the store and tells me that the beverage is in there. I look in the frig' but there is nothing but bait and frozen meat. I keep looking. Dennis from my dialysis clinic appears next to me. We greet each other. I tell him what I'm looking for. He grabs a six pack of 8 oz beers that aren't Bud Light. He takes three bottles out, opens one and hands them to me. I give up and head to the cashier. The cashier rings me up and asks me if that's all, I tell him to hang on and I grab a Snickers. "Now I'm good."

Some girls from the van come in and grab the stuff off the counter and head back outside as if they were annoyed that I was taking so long. I run outside and tell them that I forgot the ice. They become upset and run back inside.

The teacher is taking each of the students home. We head out to Middletown to my house. The road is closed so we have to park and walk. We start down the dark country road. A car crashes through the "Road Closed" sign. Then another car does the same thing. I tell the teacher that they didn't put enough reflectors on the signs. We turn down my road. I talk about my neighborhood as if it's haunted. Each house has it's own haunting. Some houses we see ghosts, others we just hear noises. But the house next to mine is the one I'm most concerned about. A dog lives there, I believe it's demon possessed. We quietly pass by the house, but not without waking the beast. We hear the growl, then we see it's bloodthirsty eyes. Everyone is scared including myself. Dream ends.

Haunted Basement

Nightmare 10/9/2015

We are at my cousins house in Sandoval, Illinois. Halloween is in the air.

All of us are hanging out in the living room watching Television. My high school math teacher and his wife are sitting on the couch. My sister can't find the remote control so she decides to check in the basement which is incredibly haunted, to the point of poltergeist. I go with her. As we walk down the basement stairs I continually commands any demons living here to leave in the name of Jesus Christ. The basement is surprisingly nice. It's finished. There is a nice sectional with a TV and refrigerator. No luck on finding the remote, so we head upstairs. Every stair that I step on cracks in half. I make it to the landing. My sister is behind me. I don't know how she will make it to the top without the whole staircase collapsing. She makes it.

The front door is open. I see a black mist in the doorway. I command the demons to leave in the name of Jesus Christ. I walk to the door and put my hand in the mist. I bring it back. Only cobwebs. Dream ends.

There's No Place Like Home

Dream 2/24/2015

My family and I move into a new house.

We love it. We discover a big room that was hidden but whenever we go into it, we get a sick feeling in our stomachs. We stay out of this room. As time goes on, the room bothers us even more. The sick feeling has become one of evil. We feel an evil presence in that room.

One night, we decide to leave. My sister grabs her kids and gets them into the car. My mom and I are the last ones in the house. She walks over to the open door to the room to close it but then walks in and turns around and looks at me. Something is wrong with her eyes. They aren't her eyes.

She slams the door closed.

I try my hardest to get into the room. I try the knob but it won't turn. I cannot get in. Suddenly the door opens by itself. My mom is lying there on the floor lifeless. I go to grab her. But just then, her body levitates from the floor and is lifted into the sky where it disappears.

I run from the house and jump into the car. I tell my sister everything. We drive off.

-

Next to the house is the Amityville house. On the other side of the house is a mansion. The mansion is holding an open house today. My dad, sister and I decide to have a look. The place is packed with home buyers. We pretty much stick together. We walk into a study and on the desk find a pile of satanic verses. We wonder if this has something to do with the evil inside our house.

I split from the group and wonder upstairs. Their are countless staircases in this house, all leading to the same place. I find myself in the library, which is a big, open space. I find the famous music artist, Joel Levi, playing a guitar on top of one of the bookshelves. Granted, the bookshelves are pretty short. I notice that the shelves not only contain books, but also guitars. I grab a guitar and play alongside Joel. A crowd gathers, obviously not to hear me. Joel blows the crowd away with his poetic verses and inspiring voice. After awhile, the crowds begin to trickle down into just a few passersby.

I bid Joel a farewell and head on my way.

-

After a few days, my family decides that they like that mansion and want to make an offer. We drive back to the luxury house. We knock on the door. It opens. The person who opens it is none other than my mom. The air inside my body evicts. I don't know what to think. She leads us up to the second story of the house. She tries to get us to say the satanic verses. We decline. She presses us. As we say no, her appearance begins to change until she no longer looks like my mom but instead has the appearance of a demon.

An angel of God steps in so the demon does us no harm. He leads us to the attic of the mansion. He creates a window in the wall of the attic. Within the window, he shows us my mom. He tells us she is doing fine and is happy. He tells us that, like Jesus, she chose to give her life to save my family. Dream ends

I truly wake up.

Ghost Adventures

Dream 10/1/2014

I'm investigating a house with Zac Bagans, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin from the Ghost Adventures Crew.

The house that we are investigating sits on a hill overlooking a river. It's day time. We are looking for Aaron. The lights in the house are out as usual. The light from the outside illuminates the inside. We search the first floor but don't find Aaron. We walk up the stairs to the second floor. The bathroom on the second floor has two doors. We open the first door and find nothing. We move to second door, open it and find Aaron taking a dump on the toilet. [laughs]. We all laugh our way down the stairs and outside.

We find a little toy action figure. The top half of the figure is white. The bottom half is yellow. Aaron comes out of the house with nothing but his underwear. The bottom half of Aaron is painted yellow [laughs]. Dream ends.

I Wake Up.
