Beneath The Surface

In the last light of day, I'm at my father's house. It's old and dark. I have a simple job: carry a bag of garbage to the kitchen. The shadows grow long and I feel scared, like a kid alone in the night. I see a ghost - a lady wearing an old-fashioned bonnet, drifting by the kitchen.

I rush outside, spilling my fears to my dad. He steps inside and climbs the creaky staircase. I follow, my eyes adjusting to the dim interior, and there she is again, the ghostly lady, halfway up the stairs. My dad is at the top. I'm stuck at the bottom.

Then, something strange. The ghost comes down the stairs and plants a deep, hard kiss on my lips. It leaves me shaken.

Later, we swim in the nearby lake. The house ghosts, supposedly wiped out by my dad, are nowhere to be seen. But as we swim, something pulls him under. The ghosts are back, angry and looking for revenge. He's struggling, crying out for help.

"I didn't mean for you to kill him!" I shout at the ghosts, but they don't listen. His last scream echoes as he's dragged under for the last time. The lake, still and silent, becomes his grave. Revenge, it seems, is served cold and deep.

Red Fog

I'm inside a mysterious mansion with a few other people. We begin walking at one point and move to another. The attic? The basement? There is no way to be sure. We begin to roam. No matter how many rooms, hallways, or doorways we travel through, we never find an exit.

A strangeness follows us. I'm not sure if we see it. It could be a person. Or an illusion. Maybe a haunting. Our pace quickens to an urgent jog. New rooms. Hallways. Doorways. We never end up anyplace with a conclusion. As long as we walk, the mansion shows us more. Like a lizard growing a new tail, the estate grows a new room. Hallway. Doorway.

I come to an indoor balcony. I look down hoping to find an answer. I cannot see the ground through the red fog. We never find our way out. As far as anyone knows, we are still there.

Imposters

Nightmare 9/3/2017

Today is my dad's and my birthday. For our present, our family is watching WWE with us. As we sit and watch Hulk Hogan and other wrestlers, the feed starts to break up. We call a few TV repair men to come fix it. Three young boys, around the age of 18 or 19 come to our home. They came hear via airplane. Each of them has an airplane. Each of them has a pilots license. They sit on our couch. They are very quiet, young men. I am impressed that they have a pilots license at such a young age. They tell me that they are in the military. I am jealous. I tell them how I wanted to be in the Navy but because of severe health problems, I was unable to do so. I ask them how they got a pilots license. They don't seem to be interested in the question.

I take the three boys to a country road a mile away. The road is famous for it's hauntings. One, being here late at night, may come into contact with ghostly headlights or a ghost light. You will see the floating light down the road a ways, but if you try to approach the light, it will disappear. I learn the boys' names. One is J.J. or Jon Jon. Another is Las. I forget the third boy's name. While being on the road, we see a set of ghostly headlights far down the cement road. We dare not approach it. We start to walk back to my home. As we turn to walk back, one of the boys runs to a nearby abandoned house. We wait for him. When he returns to us, he is not the same. His face looks much different, the eyes are bulging. The forehead is much larger, like Frankenstein's monster. He is quiet as if hiding something. We get back to my house. The boys are gone. I don't know where they are.

The next day at school, the student body is startled when the three boys show up and start attacking everyone. It is clear that these boys are heavily demon possessed. They call me out in a taunting manner. They then go to a classroom and kill a kid. They walk past me toward the exit. They taunt me. I don't know why. I can still see the one boys eyes bulging in an unnatural manner. I hang on the gymnasium rafters to hide from them.

I walk outside and see the three boys terrorizing the student body. Kids are running in every direction. One of the demon boys is driving a car, trying to run people over. I take a cross necklace in my hand. One of the boys tries to attack me. I raise the cross necklace to cushion his blow. His attack fails miserably. He just bounces off. The demon boy in the car speeds toward me. I put the cross on a paddle-like object. I hit the car as a batter would hit a pitch. The car slams into me but does no damage. The boys leave for good.

The town and country call me a hero. They praise my actions. Because of my bravery, they are allowing me to join the Navy. My dad and I will also be on the next space shuttle to outer space. We get loaded up into the space ship. Several other astronauts are coming along. Before the ship blasts off, I change my mind about outer space. My dad and I decide to go home instead. I have a message on my phone. It's from one of the demon boys. I read/hear the message. It was from before the attack. More taunting. I pay it no heed. Dream ends.
