Trick, Treat, and Twilight

The dusk settled thick over Sandoval, Illinois, a town now humming with the quiet murmurs of Halloween. Caught between the veil of sleep and the waking world, I found myself threading through the cool streets, each breath mingling with the cool whispers of autumn. Nearby, the familiar haven of my aunt and uncle's dwelling stood as a comforting silhouette against the eerie unfoldings of the night.

The young adventurers, my nieces and nephews, embarked into the night's fold with laughter as their lanterns, their small fists holding onto bags yearning for candy. The town seemed to have tucked away its playful spirit, leaving the streets barren of other youthful trick-or-treaters.

I trailed their innocent venture, my steps hurried by the cold fingers of concern that clutched at my heart. The streets of Sandoval seemed to cradle an eerie silence that night, a silence only broken by the distant laughter of my kin.

As they delved deeper into the night's enigma, an unexpected turn sent a cold shiver down my spine. A figure emerged from the shadows, not menacing in appearance, but holding a subtle, unsettling intention. The script of their evening took an uncanny turn as this figure, veiled in enigma, obstructed their path home. Not a villain, but a keeper of unsettling whims borne from the night's whisper.

Fueled by a gentle storm of love and fear, I stood firm against the veiled threat, the narrative of care against the obscure intentions carried by the Halloween night.

Then, under a pale gleam of streetlight, a startling sight awaited as I glanced at my niece, Anna. Her leg bore the markings of eerie hollows, and peering into them revealed an unsettling emptiness, a surreal vision amidst the quaint and quiet streets of Sandoval.

Guiding their tender souls back to the warm embrace of home, the scene shifted gently, leaving behind a quiet echo of eerie wonder. The night whispered a tale of mild dread, its words now nestled within the hushed corners of the mind, waiting to be inked under the soft glow of dawn's first light.

Meanings: This dream might symbolize a myriad of unfolding scenarios, each carrying its own whisper of fate. It might be hinting at the acquisition of property, possibly through inheritance or legal channels, marking a tangible shift in material circumstances. Similarly, it could be foretelling a moment of recognition within community affairs, a moment under the spotlight of communal acknowledgment.

Amidst the hopeful whispers, there's also a hint of loss, an eerie foreshadowing that may be preparing the dreamer for an impending moment of letting go. Yet, as one door seemingly closes, another opens with the promise of good news soon to grace the dreamer's path, a silver lining amidst the cloud of uncertainty.

The dream also carries a soothing promise of liberation from worry, a gentle assurance that a tranquil mind might be on the horizon. It's a narrative interwoven with both hope and dread, a complex tapestry that reflects the multifaceted nature of life's unfolding journey. Each scene in the dream mirrors a possible reality, echoing both the fears and the hopes that accompany the human experience.

Miscellaneous #4

Dream 12.21.2017

I'm in my cousin's bedroom in Sandoval, Illinois. Two girls are with me. I am watching internet videos. The girls warn me not to watch a certain video. It shows a lady turning into a bunny. Her face becomes so grotesque. So deformed. It is haunting. I watch it and become terrified.

I'm in a race. Sort of like Mario Kart. My friend Adam and I find a shortcut in the track. In the shortcut, we find treasure. I don't think we win the race.

I sought counsel from a life coach when I was in the 6th grade. I had a kidney transplant at that time. The 6th grade comes after 5th. That was a long time ago. Longer than I had thought.

I am in another race. I am driving a car that looks like Doc Brown from Back To The Future. My car has the ability to fly. The track is not clear cut. I have trouble figuring out where to go. I definitely don't win this race.

My friend's mom is the coach of the soccer team. She asks me to retrieve a soccer ball that got stuck in the net. The net is 20 - 30 feet high. The ball is stuck at the very top. Piece of cake. I start to climb but as I get higher, I become scared. I don't retrieve the ball. I ponder buying a new soccer ball for the team since I wimped out.

I am walking through my home. It is dark. It is night. I am alone. I look over toward the kitchen. On the microwave is a book about Resurrection Mary, the ghost that is seen around the city of Chicago. I become terrified just knowing that the book is in my house. I try to not think about it. I walk into the kitchen looking for a half-eaten bag of Chex Mix. I find it on top of the microwave, next to the book. Dream ends.

In The Land of Lincoln

Dream 7/16/2017

I'm road tripping to my cousin D.J's house in Illinois. In my car is my friends Derek, Kelson and Ned, the fat, Asian kid from SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING. On the way there, we drive past an amusement park full of roller coasters. We also see a restaurant that serves good burgers and has fun arcade games. I tell Ned that we will stop there on the way back.

When at my cousins, we don't really do much. We mostly sit around and roam around aimlessly. At one point, I make my way up my cousins spiral staircase to the second story. When I make it to the top, I feel scared. I don't like being upstairs by myself.

Derek comes inside the house after being gone for a while. He tells us that he has been exploring the sewer drains across the street. Dream ends.

Playtime

Dream 3/10/2017

Today I am visiting my cousin DJ in Illinois. The whole family plays a game of some sort in the backyard. Everybody is running around as if we are playing tag. I've never played or heard of the game before. I couldn't describe it for you even if I wanted to. Dream ends.

American Life

Dream 2/23/2017

I'm in an arcade in the mall. I step into a photo booth and snap a picture of myself. I reach into the drop box where the picture should appear and find several photos of previous picture takers along with napkins and an envelope. I take the envelope. Inside I find a load of money. I fold the envelope in half and slide it into my pocket with the full intention of taking it to the mall security office so it can be returned to its rightful owners.

I leave the mall.

I'm exploring the barn at my Middletown, Indiana house. I walk over to a shelf and inside a box find stacks of home videos. I am ecstatic because I thought they had been destroyed.

Walking down a street, I come across a dark, Gothic mansion. Locals call it Thorn Mansion. Somehow I find myself inside the large house. I find no one except for a wax statue of a man. The house hold lots of interesting artifacts but nothing to keep me here, so I leave.

Someone plays a video game that I used to know. It looks so familiar. It is called "American Life." I used to play it at my cousin's house in Illinois. The game consists of the player creating towns and watching them grow and interacting with people and houses.

My jeans lay on the floor. Inside one of the pockets I find the envelope full of money. I start looking through the bills and notice that much of the money is foreign. I don't recognize the currency at all.

Some friends and I search for a restaurant to eat. The driver and I agree that we should eat at either Arbys or Jimmy Johns. My friend Adam says that he's craving Taco Bell. Also he is broke so I need to pay for his food. We decide to eat at Taco Bell. Dream ends.

Father of The Year

Dream 4/21/2016

I'm visiting my cousin in Illinois.

I don't leave my room the entire time I am here. On top of the dresser in my room is a sink. I take a bath in it. One day, my dad comes to visit. That same day, my cousin gets the new PS4.5 aka Playstation NEO. It's really small. I have no idea how to fit a CD in it. My dad and I play wrestling. He gets really into it, like he is a kid again. We finish with our gaming and sit back up at the table where everyone else is.

Out of the blue, my dad says something demeaning to my sisters kid. Everyone around the table is frozen in shock and doesn't know what to say. Somebody asks him why he said what he said. He replies with, "I don't give a damn!" Just like a rotten child would say it.  I look at him and say, "Well, if you ever talk to one of my kids that way, I'm gonna give you a knuckle sandwich right to your jaw." He becomes angry, "what did you say?" he screams across the table. "You better get out of my sight right now or I'm gonna come unglued," he says, not quite making eye contact with me anymore. So I walk out of the house.

I walk down the path to DJ's house, but he isn't there, he's back at the table with everyone else. I walk to the barn where we did karaoke as kids. I stare down the field, where I learned how to drive a truck. I see mobile home upon mobile home all the way down the field. I think of all the memories I've had with this place. Dream ends.

Haunted Basement

Nightmare 10/9/2015

We are at my cousins house in Sandoval, Illinois. Halloween is in the air.

All of us are hanging out in the living room watching Television. My high school math teacher and his wife are sitting on the couch. My sister can't find the remote control so she decides to check in the basement which is incredibly haunted, to the point of poltergeist. I go with her. As we walk down the basement stairs I continually commands any demons living here to leave in the name of Jesus Christ. The basement is surprisingly nice. It's finished. There is a nice sectional with a TV and refrigerator. No luck on finding the remote, so we head upstairs. Every stair that I step on cracks in half. I make it to the landing. My sister is behind me. I don't know how she will make it to the top without the whole staircase collapsing. She makes it.

The front door is open. I see a black mist in the doorway. I command the demons to leave in the name of Jesus Christ. I walk to the door and put my hand in the mist. I bring it back. Only cobwebs. Dream ends.

Apple

Dream 10/14/2014

I'm in Sandoval, Illinois visiting my cousin, aunt and uncle. My cousin and I are playing video games in the room that he spent much of his childhood in. He has a different bedroom now.

It's late at night. I go into the kitchen to get some food. I find my aunt. She's standing by an open trashcan, zombie-like, peeling an apple with a knife. I guess the trashcan is for the bruised pieces. She doesn't look at me but every once in a while hands me a piece. My hunger fades. Dream ends

I Want Money

Dream 2-2-14

I'm traveling through Texas with my friend, Allen, and his family. They have money. Lot's of money. As we drive, Allen points out all the places and things that he owns. He mentions a race track a few miles away that is his. He tells me that his net worth is about 2.2 billion. I become extremely jealous.
We travel toward our homes in Indiana. We make a stop in Illinois at my cousins house. Allen continues to tell my extended family about all the money that he has. I become annoyed. In another room, my friend Derek and I talk about how annoyed we are. We share a snickers bar. Allen overhears us talking. He apologizes for being outspoken about his wealth. Dream ends.
