The Secret Room

Dream 6/18/2016

I once heard that there was a secret room in my school that had been blocked off. Today I'm going to find it.

I grab the blueprints to my school and start investigating. I search and search but cannot find the hidden room. Then suddenly a man knocks down some drywall, revealing the room behind it. We walk inside and find years of school artifacts long forgotten. We rummage through everything. I find pictures of the old school administrator who hasn't been there for years. I find the podium that speakers used to stand at during chapels. I find my mom's Prius, WHAT?!? What is my mom's car doing in this secret room that's been sealed off for years. I look in the trunk of her car and find baby kittens. Their eyes are barely open. Right then, my aunt walks in and tells us that we must leave, "this room is not a place that we are allowed to be," she says. I ask why? What's wrong with us just looking at all this old stuff? It seems that whenever kids want to do something fun, adults come in and ruin it. She doesn't have an answer to my question, so we continue to look. Dream ends.

The Dark Road Home

Dream 6/18/2016

A few of my classmates and me are coming back from a field trip. 

We stop at a gas station. The teacher asks me to go in and get her a bottle of Bud Light and a pack of ice. I go inside and look for both items. I look through all the beer and can't find one bottle of Bud Light. I ask an employee for help. He points to a refrigerator at the end of the store and tells me that the beverage is in there. I look in the frig' but there is nothing but bait and frozen meat. I keep looking. Dennis from my dialysis clinic appears next to me. We greet each other. I tell him what I'm looking for. He grabs a six pack of 8 oz beers that aren't Bud Light. He takes three bottles out, opens one and hands them to me. I give up and head to the cashier. The cashier rings me up and asks me if that's all, I tell him to hang on and I grab a Snickers. "Now I'm good." 

Some girls from the van come in and grab the stuff off the counter and head back outside as if they were annoyed that I was taking so long. I run outside and tell them that I forgot the ice. They become upset and run back inside. 

The teacher is taking each of the students home. We head out to Middletown to my house. The road is closed so we have to park and walk. We start down the dark country road. A car crashes through the "Road Closed" sign. Then another car does the same thing. I tell the teacher that they didn't put enough reflectors on the signs. We turn down my road. I talk about my neighborhood as if it's haunted. Each house has it's own haunting. Some houses we see ghosts, others we just hear noises. But the house next to mine is the one I'm most concerned about. A dog lives there, I believe it's demon possessed. We quietly pass by the house, but not without waking the beast. We hear the growl, then we see it's bloodthirsty eyes. Everyone is scared including myself. Dream ends.

Dream 6/18/2016

My class is preparing to give a performance to our families. The principal of our school is teaching us the dance routine to the song "Billie Jean" by the king of pop himself, Michael Jackson.

The entire class stands on stage as the audience awaits the dance. The music starts. We all begin to move. I realize that I don't have a fedora, which is essential to the song. I go on without it. I learned this dance perfectly back in the early 2000's with my cousin DJ, but the dance the principal taught is slightly watered down. I accidentally revert back to the original dance rather than the watered down version and begin to mess things up on stage. Everyone starts to forget their moves and the whole performance comes to a grinding halt. Dream ends.

Vacation

Dream 6/7/2016

On a trip to Florida, I discover an awkward secret about my father.

We've rented cabins on the beach. We're staying in the same cabin that my dad stayed in on his vacation not long ago. While sitting on a boulder in the front yard, a blonde girl approaches me. She's a local. Instantly, I recognize that she's the girl my dad's been sleeping with. My dad is in his late fifties. This girl looks younger than me. It can't be love, my dad's not that nice. Gold digger, definitely.

I avoid the girl and walk to the back of the cabin onto a deck overlooking the ocean. The ocean will be my therapy. The way in which the waves crash onto the sand, without a break, and the seagulls speaking their minds off in the distance, somehow brings me peace. But the sunset is my craving. Watching it go to sleep under the green waters is like watching a thousand romances. It warms my skin  Dream ends.

The Fourth Kind

Nightmare 5/31/2016

I live in a house in the countryside.

Aliens allow me to fly. I spread my arms and fly around the town, looking at old churches and schools. I come back home.

It's dusk. My sister, Kristen, is walking the dogs down the gravel driveway. The rest of my family is inside the house. The electricity cuts out and then comes right back on again . I hear my mom's blood curdling scream. I look toward the house. The shades are closed so I can't see inside. I look over toward Kristen, She shoots into the sky like something took her by the arm and yanked her out of this world at light speed.

Something strange is happening to me. I know that I'm about to be abducted. I hear the sound of my surroundings speeding up. A force grabs my body and I too am taken. Although the view from outer space is beautiful, the fear I feel is unlike anything I've experienced before. Dream ends.

Dream 5/26/2016

I live in an advanced age. It is now possible to travel to other planets with ease, like you were taking a weekend trip to the beach.

My friend, Gary, and I travel to another planet. On this planet there are countries and continents just like Earth. When there, we take a bus to the different towns in the area. I tell Gary of my brilliant idea to stuff sand, dirt and water from different planets into glass bottles, label them and sell them.

We travel back to Earth. We shop at Lowe's. The entire time we are there, I am holding something in my hand. I can't quite remember what it was, but I think it was a doll. Strange, huh? Dream ends.

The War in the Stars

Dream 5/21/2016

I'm in the field next to my old church in Anderson, Indiana. In between the church and the woods, I pitch a tent. A fancy igloo, no ice. The pastors daughter, Carrie, visits my igloo. She tells me about her new house, which she built where the gazebo used to be. We decide to go see Star Wars: Episode 8. The movie theater is where her house is. In the movie, Lando Calrissian has converted to the dark side and is now a storm trooper. He's played by Denzel Washington. Darth Vader is the main villain of the film, which is odd considering he's supposed to be dead.

Next, we watch Star Wars: Episode 9 which is entitled, "The Hard One." During the movie, the theater workers pause the film and demand our attention at the front of the room. They tell us that the upcoming scene has been difficult for some viewers, causing extreme nausea and sickness. It would help if we put a brass key next to our head during the scene and that will eliminate any chance of sickness. Carrie leaves the theater, I think to go find a key in her car. They resume the movie. The scene is of Luke Skywalker in a strange ship gunner pod. It's extremely fast. He is strapped into a speed absorbent harness. People get sick because the speed of the moment feels real. They feel as if they are there. Although it doesn't show, I think that Luke dies in this episode, considering it's called, "The Hard One." Dream ends.

It's my birthday today.

My family throws a party for me. People are inside and outside the house. Out of nowhere, Christopher Nolan shows up. He is one of my Film heroes. I want so badly to hang out with him but I don't want to appear like a fan, so I barely talk to him. I want to show him a movie that I made. I show some other people but realize that it's really bad. Chris leaves. Dream ends.

I'm in my high school again.

I'm in a downstairs classroom, the high school math room, when I realize that I've forgotten my book bag in the classroom above us. I go to retrieve it. As I walk up the stairs, I notice everyone from the class following me. We switch to the upstairs classroom.

We're outside in the school parking lot at night, like we used to be after returning from far away games. A non-human creature appears. It looks vaguely similar to the creature from "Jeepers Creepers." We chase him off the property. While everyone celebrates the victory, another student and I walk into the school. We think we're the only people in the building, but we're not. We see the creature from outside going down into the basement. In the basement, we keep a prisoner, a bad man, locked away. The creature picks a fight with the jailed man, but everyone from outside now knows whats going on and comes inside to catch the predator, but he gets away. Dream ends.

The Wilderness Trip

My friend, Sam, is on a trip to the wilderness in the east United States.

I'm playing Minecraft in a hotel room with my friend Derek. I call Sam to see how his trip is going. He tells me that he killed a snake and kept it's bones for decoration. I am now in a car with Sam. I see the snake bones dangled from his rear view mirror. I ask him if he killed it himself, he dances around the answer. I ask him how he skinned it, did he use the hot water theory or the cold ice theory.

I am now back in the hotel room. Derek is now on the trip with Sam. They are on a bus. we are all on the phone together. Derek says, "Keith from Louisiana wants to know if we would want to play Minecraft or watch some movies. Sam answers, "me." Dream ends.

Dream 5/10/2016

I am the son of the king. I am the prince of a 2 acre property. I don't rule with an iron fist. Mostly I sleep. The townsfolk seem to like me.

One day, impostors from another territory cross the borders of my kingdom and start murdering my people. I hold a meeting atop a large stack of bleachers. I yell out to the town, "I am the prince of this town and if you are an impostor, (I grab a shotgun from the man standing next to me) I will kill you myself." My people are on board as well. They take out anyone who doesn't belong here. The town giant helps too. Life eventually returns to normal. Dream ends.

My sisters, brother-in-law, and me are at the Middletown, Indiana public library.

I walk the aisles of the library with a few books in my hand. A man who I don't recognize comes and takes the books out of my hands and says that I can't have them. I'm a little confused by the incident.

My sisters and I go to the front desk to check out all of our books. The librarian tells my sister that she has a five-hundred dollar late fee. My sister asks her what happens if she doesn't pay. The librarian says that they will sue her for the money. We decide to use my other sisters account to check out the books. Dream ends.

Family Reunion

Dream 5/10/2016

Today we are having a family reunion at my old church in Anderson, Indiana.

All my cousins are here as well as my aunts and uncles. The only people who didn't show are my own family, my mom and sisters. Everyone at the party is drinking. I used to drink but recently quit due to alcoholism running through my family tree.

I ride up to the party on a horse and a chocolate milk in my hand. My family members laugh at me behind my back, calling me a child. My mom calls me on my cell and asks me to bring her a drink. I decide to ditch the party and head home. Dream ends.

Dream 5/7/2016

My friend Garrek comes over to play some video games.

We settle in to play some virtual reality games, the kind where you can't tell the difference between reality and the game world. Before we play, I run to the kitchen to get us some food. I look in the trash can and see a bag of tortillas, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream etc. I pull it out of the trash and make us some plates. I eat all of my food but Garrek tells me that his tortilla doesn't taste right.

We continue with out gaming. We play a game where we fight zombies in a park at night. The game feels so realistic that Garrek has to quit.

My mom and Garrek's wife come into the room. I ask my mom why the tortillas were in the trash. She tells me they've been in the refrigerator for a long time and they've gone bad. Dream ends.

Dream 4/22/2016

I'm at a baseball tournament today, watching my friend Tim play.

Tim has a break so we take a few steps over to NASA Headquarters to check out their new space ship. We walk up the stairs to where the ship is being constructed. We're overly joyed. We take a small device in our hands which is a time machine and travel back to 1967. (In my dream, America landed on the moon in 1965.) We watch as they build the first space shuttle (Which doesn't make sense being that it's 1967). We put on the first ever astronaut helmets. The feeling is euphoric. We travel back to modern times where we are met with Tim's father. We tell him about our travels to the past. We go on to share on knowledge of the NASA space program with him. Dream ends.

Dream 4/21/2016

I'm visiting my cousin in Illinois.

     I don't leave my room the entire time I am here. On top of the dresser in my room is a sink. I take a bath in it. One day, my dad comes to visit. That same day, my cousin gets the new PS4.5 aka Playstation NEO. It's really small. I have no idea how to fit a CD in it. My dad and I play wrestling. He gets really into it, like he is a kid again. We finish with our gaming and sit back up at the table where everyone else is.

     Out of the blue, my dad says something demeaning to my sisters kid. Everyone around the table is frozen in shock and doesn't know what to say. Somebody asks him why he said what he said. He replies with, "I don't give a damn!" Just like a rotten child would say it.  I look at him and say, "Well, if you ever talk to one of my kids that way, I'm gonna give you a knuckle sandwich right to your jaw." He becomes angry, "what did you say?" he screams across the table. "You better get out of my sight right now or I'm gonna come unglued," he says, not quite making eye contact with me anymore. So I walk out of the house.

     I walk down the path to DJ's house, but he isn't there, he's back at the table with everyone else. I walk to the barn where we did karaoke as kids. I stare down the field, where I learned how to drive a truck. I see mobile home upon mobile home all the way down the field. I think of all the memories I've had with this place. Dream ends.

Dream 4/19/2016

     I am in a large auditorium. The walls are lined with shelves loaded with books. Bad men are chasing me. They mean to do me harm. The rules say that in order for me to defeat these men, I have to knock all the books off of the shelves. It seems impossible but I try. I start knocking as many books as I can off of the shelves while dodging the bad men's attacks, but it's too hard. I know I won't be able to do it. In a voice of desperation I yell, "Oh God, help me!" All of a sudden, a Lion, with lights flowing in and around Him, shows up and devours the bad men. Dream ends.

There is a machine that can turn toy cars into real ones.

A kid that's hanging out with us, Andrew, says that he has a red toy Volkswagen Van. He tells me I can have it. We make a pit stop at his house and me and two other guys tear his room apart trying to find the Van, but we can't. It's nowhere to be seen. We get back in the car, disappointed, and I tell Andrew, "If you run across the Volkswagen van, I will give you $1000.00 for it." The guy next to me whispers, "that's a good deal." Andrew tells me that he will look for it. Dream ends.

I'm living in my Middletown house again.

Many people come and hang around my place. One by one the people start to disappear. We all know what it is. Alien abduction. After ten people get abducted, we make a plan to get ourselves taken by the aliens. The plan works. We are on the way to their planet. We get there and it looks very similar to our planet. In fact, the aliens aren't even hostile, they're quite nice. And the abductees are all fine as well. Who knew? Dream ends.

Dream 4/10/2016

My brother-in-law, Chad, and me are driving to my aunt's house.

I ask Chad which aunt we are visiting. He says, "your aunt soda." My aunt is having a party but we are there to pick up a few items that we stored in her barn. Me and chad drink Monsters as he drives. I ask him for a can of hair spray. He hands me the can. It looks just like the Monster. I tell him that I am worried I will get confused and drink the hair spray.

We make it to my aunts house. I run inside to the bathroom to look at myself in the mirror. I spray some spray into my hair and style it, then I leave, forgetting the hairspray on the bathroom counter. When I get back outside, I tell Chad that I forgot the spray inside but I'm too afraid to go and get it. He says it's okay, he'll go and get it but he never does. Dream ends.
