The Birth Of A Pastime

Dream 12.3.2017

I've made it. The big leagues. I'm on the baseball team. My friends dad is the coach. Many of my high school friends have made it as well.

I'm up to bat. I hit the ball so hard, it must be a home run. It isn't. But I do make it to first. The bases are arranged in a weird manner. On first, second and third, there are two bases; a square base and a home plate. While standing on first. One of my teammates stands on the first base home plate and bats. I have to watch out that I don't get beamed.  When he hits, I run to second. When it looks as if I have a chance, I steal for third. Right before I arrive, the ball gets thrown to the third baseman and he tags the base. I'm out. I throw a fit. I punch the tin siding on the dugout. I sit back on the bench. My teammates don't say a word to me.

Another day, we are playing the Ku Klux Klan. They are even dressed in their ghostly sheets. It seems that the KKK doesn't want to play baseball but rather pick a fight. The ghosts walk into our dugout and start swinging. We fight back. People are dying left and right. I find a hole in the back of the dugout and make a run for it. Triple H from the WWE starts chasing me.

We then drop into, what I can only guess is, a wormhole. It does remind me of Interstellar. Also Tron. I run through grids, times and spaces. Triple H and another guy are behind me. I get away when Triple H and the other guy fall through loose grids. (I then take on their perspective). Somehow they escape the wormhole.

Triple H and the other guy drive through American desert, an abandoned wasteland. Something bad happened while we were stuck in the wormhole. Possibly a nuclear war. A creature gets into the car with them. It's merely the size of a grown mans fist. It kills the one guy but lets Triple H live. The wrestler and the creature fall in love. They drive back to Texas where, I think, the baseball game occurred. Dream ends.

The Varsity

Dream 3/30/2017

I've come to watch a high school soccer game. First the varsity girls are up and then the varsity guys. I run around on the court a bit before the game starts. When I look at the girls on the team I become self-conscious and tell myself to get in shape. I start planning in my head to run more and go to the batting cages to practice my baseball skills so that maybe I could go out for the team. The game starts. I sit in the bleachers. Turns out it isn't a soccer game but rather a hockey game. There isn't any ice on the court, instead, it is just a normal, wooden gym floor.

During the game, a girl from the stands stands up and makes an announcement. She raises a book in the air and says it was written by her friend and she needs our support. I think her friend is sick. I watch the game some more. It is three vs three. I always thought hockey games had more people on the court than that. A little girl on the bottom bleacher raises up a sign to the rest of the fans. Her sign has about a hundred words on it and they are small. Most people wouldn't be able to read it. I hear her talk to one of the older girls saying, "I brought my sign but they won't let me show it because there are too many words."

I decide to leave before the game is done. I walk down a hallway and get into an elevator. I hear a family walking close behind. I try to shut the elevator door before they get in but in a panic I push a bunch of random buttons and nothing happens. The family walks into the elevator. Dream ends.

I wake up.

SuperGirl and DeadMan

Dream 1/24/17

I know a girl who has super powers. I'm not sure what they are, although, I think that she can fly. We sit in an abandoned baseball stadium that looks partly demolished. She flies from her seat to the outside of the stadium. I run to find her.

There is a bad guy. He dies. Then, like out of a horror movie, his rotting corpse gets up and comes after me. I run a very long distance. He never stops coming for me. I run through houses and crawl through windows, anything to throw him off my trail.

I'm in a basement. The basement has a bar. Will Smith is standing behind the bar. Dream ends.

To the Stars

Dream 4/22/2016

I'm at a baseball tournament today, watching my friend Tim play.

Tim has a break so we take a few steps over to NASA Headquarters to check out their new space ship. We walk up the stairs to where the ship is being constructed. We're overly joyed. We take a small device in our hands which is a time machine and travel back to 1967. (In my dream, America landed on the moon in 1965.) We watch as they build the first space shuttle (Which doesn't make sense being that it's 1967). We put on the first ever astronaut helmets. The feeling is euphoric. We travel back to modern times where we are met with Tim's father. We tell him about our travels to the past. We go on to share on knowledge of the NASA space program with him. Dream ends.

The Practice

Dream 2/8/2016

Girls from my class are playing a pickup game of basketball. I decide to join in on the fun.

As I'm playing, I look over to the bleachers and see my baseball coach, Mr. Allen. I walk over to him. He tells me that he has a special baseball glove for me and he wants me to be his relief pitcher in the 9th inning. The glove is quite small and is covered in Velcro. My friend, Tim, tells me that we should go practice.

We board a school bus and take off looking for a nice patch of land to throw the ball around. We drive through some poverty stricken neighborhoods and then drive out to the country. All we see are corn fields and the occasional 100 year old barn with the roof caved in. We find a place to practice next to an abandoned house. The house looks like it was burned up in a fire. We explore. We encounter ghosts of the people who used to live here. The ghosts are hostile. Dream ends.

Lucky Strikes

Dream 11/14/2015

I'm eight years old and playing in a baseball league.

It's my turn up at-bat. I completely and utterly strikeout. I see the disappointment on my teammates faces as I return to the dugout. We lose the game.

The coach thinks that we need more practice with our batting game, so he takes us to the batting cages. My teammates are upset with me. They give me glares and talk behind my back. I walk into the batting cage. I miss the first two pitches but hit the next eight. I walk out. My coach proudly says that I bat 80%. I walk over to the bleachers, where my team was sitting and yell, "losers!" I look and see that my team is gone and the bleachers are full of police officers. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Departure

Dream 2/10/2015

A boat is leaving to take mankind to another world.
My family and everyone I know make it to the boat. My friends Sam, Derek and I miss it. We figure we'll find a way to the other world somehow but until then, we're going to go through all of the abandoned houses and shops and take what we want.
While looting a Bass Pro Shop, I find a baseball glove, bat and ball. The three of us decide to play an inning or two. We never figure out how to get to the other world. Dream ends.
I wake up.

Ball Pit

A Dream From My Past

(I have had this dream around ten times in my life. I don't know why it re-occurs.)

I am walking down a hallway. I believe it is the hallway in my home. I walk until i come to a door on my left that is open. I look into the room. Inside is a ball pit, much like the one you would find at a Mcdonalds or Chuck E. Cheese. Although I can't see it, I know there is something in there. I can feel it looking at me.
Suddenly, I hear a noise which I can only describe as what you would hear out of the machine that shoots out the baseball at a batting cage. A number of balls fly up in the pit. I still don't see anything but I know it's there. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Nowhere to be Found

Dream 2-8-14

I'm in my old church.

Pastor Bill Johnson is teaching when all of a sudden, my friend erupts into a seizure. His mom tries to subdue him as he stands up. She is unable to hold him. I help her. My friend starts to walk around the sanctuary. I follow him to make sure he doesn't get into any trouble. I try to walk him back to his seat. He aggressively fights back. He eventually comes out of his seizure and sits back down.

At the end of the service, I walk up to Bill Johnson and say, "My kidneys have failed. I need to be healed." Bill responds with a bit of surprise. He prays for me.
Fifty yards away from the church is the church house. A house used for many purposes. I walk in and am greeted by the devil. I can't remember much of my experience in the house.

I travel to my sisters new home. She just moved in. My sister has three kittens. The second youngest kitten, Enoch, has disappeared. We look all through the house and find nothing. We search out in the yard and find nothing. We consider the possibility that the kitten is gone.

My brother-in-law and I walk through the neighborhood calling for little Enoch. We come across some neighbor kids playing baseball. They start throwing balls at us. Strangely enough, we become friends. They offer us a ride home in their van. We agree.

Back at home, we introduce our new friends to our family. They then leave.
Later on that night, my sister and I decide to drive down to the local cemetery to look for Enoch. It's dark. We get to the cemetery and realize that it's 8:03 pm and the gates are closed. So, we drive back home. Dream ends.

I wake up.

The Price is Right

Dream 6-13-13

My father is a contestant on The Price is Right. My mother and I are sitting behind the cameras watching. They keep calling my dad "the Vietnam vet." This seems strange to me. He didn't fight in Vietnam. My mom takes her camera out and snaps a picture. I grab her by the shoulder and pull her back. She screams. I tell her that she can't disturb the production. Bob Barker walks toward her and takes her camera away. My dad wins the show.

In 1993, My dad is playing his guitar on the couch. His shirt is off, and he's wearing a baseball cap. The kids are running throughout the house, playing.
Years later, my brother and I feel the need to play The Price is Right. We travel to California. My dad comes with us. We make it to the show. We ask for an information card but all the name cards are filled. We find one that is empty. I fill it out. I sit down and wait for my name to be called. Dream ends.

I wake up.
