Madman

Dream 12/1/2018

I'm dating a girl whose father is a madman. She runs away from home. I meet her at an abandoned school where she has made one of the old classrooms her place to live. Somehow, her father has followed us. We hear him in the echoey downstairs hallways. The girl makes her bed and tries to arrange her room correctly so that if he finds it, he passes by. We hear his footsteps. He's made it upstairs to where we are. I run out into the hallway to cause a distraction. I enter the boy's bathroom and start screaming. The father walks in. There are stair steps at the other end of the loo. I run up the stairs as he chases behind me.

Later, much later, the father has gathered a group of young people. We are his prisoners, and he is the evil dictator. It's reminiscent of the movie The Postman. Somehow, I piss the dictator off. His face catches fire and burns his long gray hair and beard clean off. When the flame has done its business, he is a bald, black man. Dream ends.

Sick

Dream 9.22.2018

Some friends of mine and I have a disease. A woman pulls us away from school and takes us to a church. Inside she has us wash our skin. We put on white hazmat-like suits. She teaches us how to do things differently than our healthy classmates. The way we eat, dress, and drive our cars must be different because of our illness.

She has us build our own vehicles out of crafting supplies. One group finishes their car and leave. They drive back to school. Several friends comment on how hard it is to find the way back to school. The lady walks us through confusing hallways and rooms to get back to building our cars. All of us try but are unable to make one out of craft and art supplies. Dream ends.

The Land of Lost Socks 2

Dream 6/5/2017

Back in my old school from Anderson, Indiana, I am doing some school work in the gymnasium along with some other classmates and a friend who has passed away. The schoolwork that we are trying to finish are several papers like you would find in a children's activity book. We color pictures with crayons and finish the fun activity on each page. A teacher walks us through each paper.

At one point, I am working on a page and it then disappears. The others are moving on to the next pages while I scramble to find the page I was just working on. How can something that I was just holding disappear into thin air. Once again it seems something of mine has gone to the land of lost socks. I get angry. Every other word out of my mouth is an expletive. My friend who has passed away tries to help me while others stare in confusion. I never find the paper. I leave the class and get a bad grade on my homework. I am furious that I didn't get a good grade and it wasn't even my fault.

I walk the halls of the school when I come to a chapel. The pews are full of students. I remember there is a Catholic gathering today. I walk past the gathering. Dream ends.

I wake up.

The Land of Lost Socks

Dream 3/29/2017

My name is Tom. I'm a young child. I attend elementary school. Today is my first day. Somehow, my underwear gets dirty so I take them off. My teacher shows me to my seat next to a boy whom I deem a pest. I play with blocks with each letter of my name inscribed on them. I put them together to spell my name, Tom. I remember my dirty underwear. I need to hide them somewhere. Behind me is a cupboard. I need to hide them in the cupboard. I look over to my teacher. She is sitting in her rocking chair rocking back and forth. I slowly open the door to the cupboard but it makes a loud creaking noise. The noise grabs my teachers attention. I quickly move my chair back, slamming against the cupboard. I want her to think the noise came from me hitting my chair against the cupboard. She walks over and opens the cupboard. She pulls out a zip lock baggie with underwear in them. They aren't mine though. She announces to the class, "Whose dirty underwear are these?"

The closet in the classroom is like an attic. It goes about a hundred feet and opens up to the hallway on the opposite end. It's really dirty so me and my nephews decide to clean it up. I hear my dad down the hallway in another classroom substituting. At the opposite end of the closet under a bunch of toys, I find pairs of socks that I lost a long time ago. I get the idea to pick up the major items in the closet and then have a Roomba vacuum let loose for a couple hours to get the rest. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Convergence

Dream 3/17/2017

My school takes a day to visit an amusement park that is located in a valley. Standing up on a hill, you can look down and see the rides, booths and lights of the park. At the top of the hill is a giant buffet. One buffet has been overlooked and forgotten about and the food has become old and rotten. Some guys that I am with smell the food and laugh about how bad it is.

I study sharks. I have a partner. Her and I study sharks together, or we are supposed to. One day she gets into a boat and takes off without me. I run and jump off the end of the dock to make it into the boat but miss wildly. I fall into the water. Behind me is hundreds of people watching me fail. We rediscover a bull shark which has been thought to be extinct. We film him swim around underwater. He can't seem to close his mouth.

I am helping with the concession stand. My job is to fill the drinks. The way that I know what drink to pour is the manager will put a colored dot on the cup. Depending on what color the dot is shows me what drink to pour. It takes me a few tries to get it down, but I eventually get the hang of things. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Obstacle

Dream 2/2/17

Today my class has taken a field trip to place with a bookstore inside a gymnasium. A friend of mine, who died several years ago, is back from the dead. I ask him what Heaven is like. He answers, "if you had muscles when you died, you will have those same muscles up there." I say, "What if you didn't have muscles?" He responds, "you can buy new ones." Right then, another friend comes to inform me that one of my stories has been published in a book. I go and buy it. I've spent so much money today on souvenirs. I open up the book and read my story. It's about a military commander during one of the great wars.

Something else here is a giant obstacle course that reaches as high as the sky. It has so many levels to it and each level is different. There are several pathways to the top. Whoever gets to the top gets a prize. I start. I am determined to make it. I know I was never athletic but this is my chance to show my friends that I'm not a waste of skin. Different people go different ways. At one point I am with one group of people and at other points I'm with another. The obstacle course can trick you as well. It can make you think that a slide will take you downward, something that you wouldn't want, but then it could take you to a spot that has an easy access to the next level. The group I am in hits a dead end or a spot that we don't want to traverse. I take a slide that I think will take me back to the spot that I was just at, but instead, it takes me several levels down. I am so frustrated. But I am even more determined. I climb back up.

I make it to the trickiest part of the course. It looks like one of those big slides you find at the fair but with the material of a bouncy house. The trick is that the people who have made it up faster are at one side of the slide with dodge balls. They throw the balls at the people coming down and if the sliders get hit, they have to return all the way to the ground to start again. The sliders have to slide on rafts. Several people can slide at once. If one makes it to the other side without getting hit, there is a conveyor belt that will take them up a few levels. It gives you time to rest and breathe. A girl from my class comes sliding from the other side to my side, I don't think she is looking, so I grab a ball and throw it at her. Right then, she turns and catches the ball. That means that I must go back down to the ground level. I am so disappointed that I want to cry. I feel the tears welling up in my eyes.

There is a giant exit slide that takes you far down. I sit and slide. I pass some others on the way. It doesn't take me all the way to the bottom level, just a few levels above. So I explore those levels and take slides down. When I get to the second level, I find a hidden room with a hole in the floor. I look down the hole, at the bottom is a giant cushion. I jump down. I land on the ground level. I start heading over to the start once again. Everyone on the ground floor is playing a round of paint ball or dodge ball. There is a kid with a running chainsaw. He almost slices me with it on accident. I let a few expletives fly his way, telling him how stupid he is for using a running chainsaw so carelessly. I get to the start again. I remember thinking that It is going to take me hours before I get back to the point where I was eliminated. I begin. Dream ends.

The Secret Room

Dream 6/18/2016

I once heard that there was a secret room in my school that had been blocked off. Today I'm going to find it.

I grab the blueprints to my school and start investigating. I search and search but cannot find the hidden room. Then suddenly a man knocks down some drywall, revealing the room behind it. We walk inside and find years of school artifacts long forgotten. We rummage through everything. I find pictures of the old school administrator who hasn't been there for years. I find the podium that speakers used to stand at during chapels. I find my mom's Prius, WHAT?!? What is my mom's car doing in this secret room that's been sealed off for years. I look in the trunk of her car and find baby kittens. Their eyes are barely open. Right then, my aunt walks in and tells us that we must leave, "this room is not a place that we are allowed to be," she says. I ask why? What's wrong with us just looking at all this old stuff? It seems that whenever kids want to do something fun, adults come in and ruin it. She doesn't have an answer to my question, so we continue to look. Dream ends.

Now and Then

Dream 10/4/2015

The school that I went to in my youth has changed.

Today we go and see what is different. Instead of an emphasis on education and spiritual growth, we find the opposite. The small brick building has been opened up to fit the large 5 story water slide and roller coaster. I see a room filled with pinball machines and arcade games. When you walk up the stairs of the water slide, you get to another part of the school. There we find a bar that serves Mountain Dew and Pepsi. There is a button on the opposite side of the bar where you find a wall covered in flatscreen TV's. If you push the button, the bar will disappear and turn into a regular classroom. I am pissed at what I see. The school that once taught me how to live is nothing more than a day at a fun park. My mom and I decide to leave. We slide down the water slide which barely has any water. Dream ends.

Unschooled

Dream 2-3-14

I'm on a field trip. I don't see a teacher, only students. We stop at a mysterious building. The building doesn't have walls. Weaving in and out of the building is a small rollercoaster. The students and I climb on to the ride. The ride starts. We go around and around and have lots of fun. A friend of mine says, "look, it's Elvis." When the ride comes to a stop, we climb off and walk through the building. We find a wax figure of Elvis staring through a window to the outside.
-
I'm running late to school today. I walk into the building and go to my locker. I grab my history book for class. I walk to Mr. Chaplins room. When I walk in, the teacher reminds me that I am missing two pieces of candy and a book that shows the comparisons of two countries. I can't remember the countries. I walk back out to the hallway. Back to my locker to get the right material. I find the book and the candy. On my way back to class I realize that I'm not wearing any pants. I grow stricken with anxiety. I grab the bag that I am holding and I look in it. At the bottom of the bag is a pair of jeans. I walk to the end of the hallway, sneaking past rooms where students can see me. I put on my pants. Although the pants are too big, I walk back to the classroom. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Halloween

Dream 6-23-13

Today is Halloween. The school I attend is holding a costume ball. A few of my friends are over to find a costume. They both decide to go as leatherface. I have the idea to go as a girl. I'll wear a wig and a pretty dress.
-
Before I go to the costume ball, I must take a trip to Redding, California. I make it to the Golden State, to a little church in the north called Bethel. Here at the church is a diner, I decide to walk in and rest my feet. Being a people watcher, I take a quick gander at those sitting around me. Many of them are older. There is a mountain man with a long beard sitting in the corner. Good conversations abound.
-
I leave the diner. Just outside, in the parking lot, there is a crowd gathering. Some guy has just dared an old man to do 4,000 push-ups on the spot. The old man takes the bet, drops to the ground, and begins the up and downs. To my surprise, he makes it to 3,997 and then he stops on purpose. I don't know why he does it. He says that hes proved his point.
-
My business is finished here in Redding, so I put on my wig and my pretty dress and I head back to my school for the Halloween costume ball. Dream ends.

I wake up.
