Dialysis Nightmare

Dream 7-17-14

Walking into the building, I notice a lovely fountain in the middle of the room, the open lobby spans from the first floor to the fourth. The stairs spiral all the way up much like a Frank Lloyd Wright design. The Dialysis floor is one floor down, in the basement. I wait for my turn. The nurse tells me that I am in the wrong clinic. "But this is the dialysis clinic?" I say. She tells me that it is one of two, the other is on the top floor and it's the bad clinic. I wonder what she meant by "bad clinic."

I walk the stairs to the fourth floor. When I enter the clinic, I find a line of people, a lot of people, waiting for their treatment. Their are only two nurses and two seats. About fifteen people wait four hours for each patient to finish dialyzing. When it is finally my turn, which is days, I sit in the seat and wait to be stuck by the needle. The nurses are usually very gentle and make the process as painless as possible. Today is different. Different nurses, different technique. The nurse takes the needle (which is the size of of crochet needle) and stabs it into my arm. I let out a scream. She misses the fistula. She yanks the needle out of my arm, raises it above her head and brings it down into my arm once again. She misses once more. Dream ends.

I wake up.

The Gymnasium Fire

Dream 6-29-14

Walking through the upstairs hallway of Liberty Christian School, making my way around many of the middle school preteens that occupy that part of the school, I notice something out of place. Smoke. The  smell of smoke begins to fill my senses as if it were trying to drown me. I turn down the hallway on the south end of the school. Black smoke is billowing out of the gymnasium doors. The fire alarm begins to scream above my head. The middle school kids were now stampeding to make it out of the building, much like a Darwinian survival of the fittest. Pushing and shoving. There was no apologies, only a fear inspired action toward the five exit's of the building.

Standing there, watching the black smoke fill the hallway, I have a choice to make. I can follow the lead of the students, making their way outside to safety or I can check the three classrooms in front of me in which I saw no one exit. What if someone were trapped. Fear was telling me to get out while I still can, but courage had another message.

I started making my way down the south end hallway. It was now full of smoke. The only way to get through it was to hunch over and try to get under it. It's a struggle to breathe still. I make it to the first classroom. Empty. I struggle down the hall a bit to the second, open the door and find it empty. I began to wonder if this was the right choice, if it was just a waste of time. It wasn't a good time in my life to be wasting time, I didn't have time. I only had a matter of minutes until the fire from the gymnasium, poked it's ugly head into the place which I was standing. This time it could be fatal. I finally make it to the last classroom. It's empty, just like the first two.

I have to get out. The way I came is out the question but the stairs in front of me which lead to the first floor have been demolished. All that remains there is the once landing of the stairs. I have to make a jump for the landing, it may be a cruel choice, but it's the only one. I jump. Crashing into the tiled landing, I forget about the pain and now focus on the jump to the first floor which is even higher. Strangely, there are doors on the landing now. Opening them up to reveal the first floor, I notice many people standing around nonchalant as if the fire and the stampeding children was all in my imagination. But it wasn't. I can still see the puffy black smoke taking over the upstairs hallway. Suddenly an idea comes to me. I take off my long sleeved shirt. I carefully make my way around the open door to the first floor. Now standing about twelve or thirteen feet above it. I bend down. I take one sleeve of my shirt and jam it into the door as it closes.

Full of high anxiety, I cautiously shimmy down the shirt. I know that it won't get me all the way to the floor but it will get me close enough so I don't break my leg on the jump. The people notice me now but they don't try to help (Typical dream people and probably typical real life people as well, if you think about it.) Funny enough, before I get to the end of my shirt, I touch the ground with my feet (As if my shirt were thirteen feet long from one sleeve to the other.) Now to safety, I decide not to leave the building. From what I hear the fire has largely calmed down and it's not unsafe to roam the halls, looking at the damage it caused. So I do.

Now near the front door of the school, surveying the fire's art work, my mom rushes in. She is frantic. She tells me how the teachers didn't know where I was and how scared she was about it. She didn't know if I had met the grim reaper or not. I assure her that her eyes are not playing tricks on her and I am fine.

We make our way to the car and drive off, out of sight. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Passport to Romance

Dream 6-17-14

I'm inside a stadium. It looks like a football stadium. It's not a football stadium. It's a dating service. Where in a stadium there would be concession stands, here there are rooms and libraries where you can talk to someone of interest.

My sisters, brother-in-law and mom are in a room off to the corner of the stadium. I don't know what my family is doing but I'm am here for the girls. While they stay in the room, I wonder off into the larger room of the stadium. I can see thousands of people sitting and talking in the stands. I see a girl sitting in a leather library chair. I find her attractive but am too scared to talk to her. I walk on.

One of the services of the dating company is to take your blood pressure and that will tell you what personality traits you have as well as the traits you are looking for. I have my blood pressure taken. Immediately after the test is over, a lady comes to me with a sheet of paper. The important items are highlighted.

I head back to the room where my family is. My sister and brother-in-law tell me that my mom and other sister are taking a nap before we head home. In the room is a bookshelf full of dusty books. The books probably haven't been read in years, some of them may have never been read. One peaks my curiosity. I slip it off the dusty shelf and start to flip through it. I find that someone has a page bookmarked with an old passport. The passport is old and tattered and missing the cover. It's from a man who was in the army. It tells that his base was "Fort Mubst" in Michigan. He was born in 1947. Dream ends

I wake up.

The Saints Go Marching On

Dream 5-3-14

There's a storm coming.

War has erupted in Russia. Our troops flood the grounds to put out the fire. I find myself in an armored military vehicle. The soldiers and I exit the car. I stand with hundreds of American soldiers along a country road in Russia facing a field. On the other side of the area are hundreds of Russian troops. We can't see them, but we know they're there.

The American troops start walking across the field in their battle stance. As they walk, a low manly murmur comes over the crowd. Hundreds of men singing, "The saints go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah. The saints go marching one by one hurrah, hurrah. And they all go marching down to the ground to get out of the rain. Boom, boom, boom, boom. Boom, boom, boom, boom."

A song that I haven't heard since the days of my youth. When I sang it, it was about ants, not saints. The men march on.

A few soldiers and I drive up the road a bit to manage the situation. The singing stops.

The soldiers on both sides begin to fire at each other. For several minutes there is nothing but the sound of gunfire and the smell of gunpowder. Smoke fills the air around the battleground. The shooting slowly drizzles down to a few pops here and a few bangs there until finally there is nothing.

Suddenly, as if it were the chorus of victory, a full metal choir, we hear it. Off in the distance, hundreds of voices singing, "The saints go marching one by one hurrah, hurrah. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Mother's Little Secret

Dream 5-3-14

I'm in a Christmas town. Cute, little shops align the street on either side. They are full of homemade crafts, candles, clothing etc.

One shop is owned and ran by a family. I am friends with them. The daughter runs the business and the mother owns it.

One afternoon we spend time together. We sit around the shop talking and laughing among ourselves. At one point the mother tells us that she needs to run a few errands and that she'll be back in a couple of hours. She then leaves. I leave too.

I decide to follow her. I see her enter a strip club. I walk into the club as well. I come to find out that she is a stripper. New feelings arise in me that were never there before. I find myself desperately attracted to her. I sit in front of her as she moves her naked body in sinful ways. I give her money. She dances for me.

Later on, we both leave the club and head back to the family shop. Both of us know her secret. Neither of us tell. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Psycho Circus

Dream 4-25-14

I'm spending some time with my friends, Gene, Paul, Ace and Peter from the band KISS. They start to show me their secrets.

Gene begins to show me a ritual that he does before all of the shows. He stands there. All of a sudden,
his face becomes chillingly deformed. His eyes turn snake-like and his teeth become like fangs. I'm afraid. Dream ends.

I wake up.

The Chief

Dream 3-19-14

My sister has a new car.

She is driving me home. She starts giving a rant about why she so hates the car. I exit the vehicle.

I run ahead into a container yard which is under a roof. The yard is taken over by malevolent ghosts. The leader of the ghosts is a Native American chief.

My sister is about to drive in here. If she does, the ghosts will attack her, maybe kill her. I can't let that happen. I climb onto the roof. When the car is in the right spot, I jump down in front of it. My sister slams on the breaks. I get inside. I tell her what's going on..

She speeds up. Once we enter the yard, the ghosts attack. The chief is directing them. My sister drives like a crazy person to get away. We eventually do. We make it to the outside where the sun is shining.

After my sister parks the car, she says hello to her friend, Taylor Lautner. As I'm standing there waiting for her, something catches my eye.

A woman is helping a man in a wheel chair into a handicap van. The man is the Native American Chief. Dream ends.

I wake up.

The Voice

Dream 3-18-14

There is a voice.

The voice talks to a man. The man doesn't know the voice but does what it tells him to do.

One day the voice tells the man to take a briefcase from a locker and place it on a subway car. Inside the case is an atomic bomb.

The man does what the voice tells him to do. He places the bomb on the subway and leaves it.

But the man feels guilty. He can't let something destroy the lives of so many innocent people. He runs back to the train car, picks up the briefcase and throws it into a place where it will do no harm.

He throws the bomb into the ocean. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Imitation

Dream 3-15-14

I'm back in high school.

The bell rings. It's time to go to Mr. Longs class. We get to his classroom and the door is closed. We see through the window that he's conducting a choir and a band. We remember that there is a big upcoming event where the choir and band are to perform. Someone yells out, "Mr. Longs class, go to the art room."

There are two art rooms. One upstairs and one across the street where the 'Madewell's Ice Cream Shoppe' used to be. We're supposed to go across the street.

We walk outside to the front curb. It's night already. We look up and see a witch riding her bike through the dark sky. Half of the students in the class are witches. I go back inside for a minute and come back out. The rest of the class has already made it to the classroom. I cross the street.

The good students are inside. All of the witches are outside. I'm friends with some of them, including a girl named Kasey. They are dancing and hollering under the moonlight. Kasey tells me that the good people inside won't let them in because her and her friends are imitators of Satan. I tell her that I'm an imitator of God and I'm going to prove his power. She asks me, "how?" I tell her that I'm going to make her legs grow. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Coffee Cravin'

Dream 3-14-14

My friend Ryan and me are staying in a hotel.

We're in the mood for some coffee. We decide to go find a coffee shop or Starbucks and quench our desire. But before we go get some coffee, we must get some coffee. We stop at the hotel coffee dispenser.

I throw in some espresso and coffee, top it with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, caramel syrup and nuts.

A nerdy guy is here. He's telling us what we should and shouldn't put in our coffee. Every time we put something in that he disapproves of, he reprimands us. Ryan and I quietly look at each other as if to say, "this guy is really annoying."

Finally, I turn around, put my hand on the nerdy guy's shoulder and say, "I think we're good here, thank you." The man walks away. Dream ends

I wake up.

Concert Hall

Dream 3-14-14

I'm at a concert hall.

A famous band is playing. Barely anyone is here. It must be the sound check. I walk over and steal one of the band members water bottles. I take it back over to my group of friends. A girl says she wants to drink from it. She takes a sip. She says it's too salty. I drink from it. It's pure water and salt. Salt has settled at the bottom of the bottle. I put it back.

They tell me that I'm having a small concert today. They announce my band and everyone cheers. My friend Joel is in the front row. It comes time for me to start playing but I get nervous. I decide to play my song "Slow Down." I start.

I'm so nervous that I can't get the melody right. What I'm singing sounds nothing like the real song. I finally finish. The cheering is thin throughout the crowd. I mostly receive mercy claps. Dream ends.

I wake up.

The Long Jump

Dream 3-13-14

I begin doing the Olympic long jump down the street where me and some friends once left a Volkswagen van.

I'm long jumping. I feel as though I'm flying. It doesn't seem like something that a human can do. Angels must be holding my arms.

I catch the attention of some friends that I haven't seen for years, the Lore sisters. They start doing the long jump with me. One of the girls says that her favorite place to go long jumping is Meijer.

We start to make our way toward the store. We never make it there. Instead, we head to an old couple's house. When we step inside we are immediately greeted with a hush. The old couple can't take loud noises. We look over toward the kitchen. An old man has fallen asleep in his lunch. Dream ends.

I wake up.

The Van

Dream 3-13-14

My friends and me are driving a Volkswagen Bus.

We drive around town looking for items that people have thrown away. One man's trash is another man's treasure. We find several items here and there. I climb up front.

My uncle, who is up front, becomes angry with me. We end up in the backseat punching each other. We fight so vigorously that a fire starts in one of the seats. My friend pulls the van to the side of the road and everyone jumps out.

I voice my concern that the police are going to find us. We run in separate directions. I run across a country field to my house. The next day, we return to the van. surprisingly, there wasn't much damage done. The man whose house we parked the van, walks out in a fury. He tells us, "if you don't get that thing out of here, then I'm gonna call the cops."

We jump into a nice two story truck that's parked next to the van. It's full of computers and other gadgets. There are firefighter slide down poles falling from the second story to the bottom. As far as I know, we never return to the van. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Sleeping with the Enemy

Dream 3-13-14

Two sides war against each other every year.

My men are upstairs looking out the windows. We're patrolling.
Suddenly we hear a knock at the door downstairs.

I grab my men. They grab their guns. We make our way to the front door where the knocking continues. We open the door. It's our enemy. The enemy is at the front door. We allow them to come in.

The last girl inside has a cuteness to her. I tell her that she is the winner for being last inside and her prize is upstairs. Her and I walk up to one of the bedrooms. We look out the window. I point out a patch of land where the war originally began. She is intrigued.

I take her to another bedroom. I close the door. I tell her, "for your prize we can either have sex or cuddle." The statement seems to have pushed her away. She walks to the door but stops. She turns around, looks into my eyes and says, "Lets do it." Dream ends.

I wake up.

Sky Diving

Dream 3-10-14

I'm in Miss Benz 4th grade classroom.

I'm not an elementary school student. I'm a young adult. There are other adults in the classroom.

We're waiting for a plane. All of us are sky diving today. When the plane gets close, Miss Benz will take us up to the roof where we will get on the plane.

My infant sister is in the building. She's going to sky dive as well. You would think that her being an infant would be an issue, but it's not. Over the walky-talky we hear that she has successfully parachuted to the ground. I think to myself, "how can my baby sister do something before me."

It's our turn.

We walk to the roof of the school which is level to the ground. We see the plane coming. It lands in a lake right in front of us. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Curious Things

Dream 3-8-14

We go to church.

Across the way from our church is the Mormon church. We visit the Mormon church one Sunday. We enjoy the music. In fact, we like it better than our church. We decide to try it for another few weeks. We find out some curious things. The only colors within the church are purple and white. The color black is not allowed inside the building, especially on the bottom of a persons shoes.

One Sunday, I am bullied by a group of about 4 boys. They follow me out to the parking lot. I jump into a strangers car and try to lock the doors. The boys get in faster than I can lock the car. I jump out and climb into the next car. I do lock the doors this time. The bullies give up on the chase and walk away.

Right then, I see one of the leaders of the church and flag her down. I walk with her into the building and tell her of my troubles. I tell her that life isn't fair and that I am being bullied.

I choose to move back to my original home state. I like it here because I know many people.

I live in an apartment with my parents. One night I take a stroll out to the swimming pool. Many wild teenagers are out there partying the night away. I find a young girl twerking against my father. My parents don't sleep in the same room at night.

Later that night, my mom reads a story to me. I wet my pants. I take a shower to clean myself. I cannot return to work because of my pregnancy.

My two sisters, Morgan and Kristen, come and ask us to church. They tell us that after church we will have a nice day at the beach. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Gray

Dream 3/7/14

George Costanza and me are in a shopping mall.
The mall is holding a contest. Whoever can ride a motorcycle at a consistent speed through the stores without crashing, wins a brand new crotch rocket. George and I compete as a team. We make it through all the stores. We win the bike.
George disappears.
I leave my family. I take the bike and ride it throughout the country. The motorcycle is white and I don't like that color. I take it to a mechanic and ask him to paint it gray. Dream ends.

I wake up.

The Coming Storm

Dream 3-6-14

A storm is coming.

My family and I prepare the underground shelter. It's more of a prison than a shelter.

The storm arrives. My family seems to have disappeared. My mom is here. Down the long corridor, I can see several gremlin-like critters running toward me. My mom and I run for our lives. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Mingle

Dream 3-5-14

I'm in a cult.

The leaders of the cult want to exercise us. The have us run on a muddy track. They have us swim. They have us run an obstacle course. The men and women are not allowed to mingle.

Matthew Mcconaughey, Sandra Bullock and myself hide beneath the surface of a small lake. All of us can hold our breath for seven minutes each. Matthew takes pictures of Sandra as she takes her clothes off. They mingle. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Battleground

Dream 3-4-14

An American civil war happens every year. My father is the general of the Union armies. He stays in bed most of the time and I report the goings on from the war.

At my house, my sister gives me a gun for my safety.

I walk out to my backyard where the current battle is happening. Several men including myself are tied to fighter jets. The planes take off. Straight up into the sky. Every plane is shot down except for mine. I parachute down to the front of my house.

I report to my father that we've taken Russia and Venezuela and next we're going to hit Iran. Dream ends.

I wake up.
