Sunshine On My Shoulders

Dream 12.8.2017

My family is on vacation in a beach community. I believe Florida. My mom and I go browse some of the nearby shops. I look at a sign that says "Men's Watches." Everything below the sign is for women, not men. I eventually find a Timex watch that I like with a band that changes colors. I show my mom. She buys it for me. It will be a Christmas present. I look at my new watch and a new pair of blue jeans, both purchased by my mom and think to myself that I am pretty blessed.

We return to the hotel room, which is literally ten feet from the ocean. I walk out, prop my elbows up on the handrail and look out at the beach. There is a couple of strangers standing near me. My social anxiety creeps up and I walk back into the hotel room.

My family goes to the beach. My sisters and I keep asking our parents if we can get into the water but they won't let us. They worry about our safety. We walk down the beach. I look out toward the ocean. There is now a canal between the sand and the ocean. The canal comes onto the land and enters a dark tunnel. Boats that are designed to look like giant sharks are exiting the tunnel and headed for the ocean. My sisters and I run down the canal. My parents stay on the beach.

We find ourselves under a bridge where many young people are sitting around, talking and playing games. A beautiful black girl comes over to me. Out of nowhere, I kiss her on the lips. Her breath is terrible. She asks me where the locker rooms are. I look over my shoulder. I point her in the right direction. Dream ends.

Blizzard

Dream 3/2/2017

My mom and I go out for a drive on a harsh winter night. A blizzard has recently made its way through our town and left snow covering the roads.

I think my mom wants to do some Christmas shopping so I point out a store that I see called "Parents, Have You Been Good?" It sounds like a Christmas store to me. My mom doesn't want to shop there. We drive to an office instead. Creed Bratton from "The Office" and from the band "The Grass Roots" works here. On most of the computers in the workplace, the desktop contains files having to do with the state of Texas. The files are named "All About Texas," "1000% Texas," and other files that hint at the idea of visiting or moving to the lone star state.

Mom and I drive around the back of the office following a road that is hard to see. It's clear that no snow plows have been through here. The only way to read the road is from previous car tracks. We go up onto a hill. At the bottom of the hill is a giant lake. As we start to descend the hill, our car starts spinning out of control. We come closer and closer to the lake until BAM! We are in it. Very quickly our truck is submerged in water.

We travel back in time to where we were at the office with Creed Bratton. We are outside the office in the back walking through the snow. Creed starts singing a song to the melody of those old Dominoes buffalo wings commercials. "Gotta be! gotta be! Dominoes! buffalo wings!" Dream ends.

I wake up.

Sleepover

Dream 12/22/2016

I'm at a sleepover at my friend Aaron's house. Around ten other guys are there as well.

Most of the night we hang out in his room playing video games. I wake up the next morning and the room is empty, I can tell that everyone is in the living room. I get up and join them. They are playing Pokemon, the video game. They constantly switch turns with each other. There is a Japanese boy on the couch next to me trying to hold my hand. I don't know who he is.

While we're playing, I look out the window and realize that I parked my Jeep too much in the road and I'm afraid that someone will hit it. I head back to the bedroom to find my clothes. I search for an hour for my brown cargo pants and my gray t-shirt, but am unable to find them. Eventually I give up and go outside with the clothes I have on. I walk up to a red Jeep but it is not mine. I start walking back to the house and Aaron's sister and her friend tell me that they towed my Jeep because I did not have the required neck brace for the vehicle. I shoot out a few expletives and head back inside.

Aaron's mom is giving us all rides home. "You're gonna drive me all the way to my house?" I ask. She says that she will, that it's only five miles away. Everyone laughs. Shes mistaken. That's my old house, now I live two hours away, but I don't tell her that. We get into the van. It's packed with everyone inside. Aaron can't fit, so he hangs on to the outside. As his mom gets the car up to high speeds, Aaron can no longer hang on and he falls off, his face slams against the ground. As we speed off, I feel like I can see him get up, but it's very far away, I could be wrong.

As we ride in the van, I start singing "Maybe This Christmas" and Josh, the boy next to me, starts to sing the harmony parts. Dream ends.

Mother's Little Secret

Dream 5-3-14

I'm in a Christmas town. Cute, little shops align the street on either side. They are full of homemade crafts, candles, clothing etc.

One shop is owned and ran by a family. I am friends with them. The daughter runs the business and the mother owns it.

One afternoon we spend time together. We sit around the shop talking and laughing among ourselves. At one point the mother tells us that she needs to run a few errands and that she'll be back in a couple of hours. She then leaves. I leave too.

I decide to follow her. I see her enter a strip club. I walk into the club as well. I come to find out that she is a stripper. New feelings arise in me that were never there before. I find myself desperately attracted to her. I sit in front of her as she moves her naked body in sinful ways. I give her money. She dances for me.

Later on, we both leave the club and head back to the family shop. Both of us know her secret. Neither of us tell. Dream ends.

I wake up.
