The Heat

I'm in Africa. Some family members and friends have traveled with me. I am told of a group of people who are desperate to come here.  They travel 100 miles on foot through lava canyons. I see the trail of magma and canyons that lead away. We start to move the path. A few miles on, the walls of the canyons block the sun, and Molton rock begins to appear more and more. We turn back. I wonder how these people travel through lava. How is it possible? We eventually make it through. The halfway point is a lovely building with chairs and vending machines. It's out of place. But it gives me hope.

We make it to the end. There is an indoor swimming pool full of lava. Lying across the pool are several inflatable logs. The people here play a game. One person sits at each end of the trunk. They try not to fall into the hot magma below.

We play the game.

I watch as my friend's dad sits at one side. He puts forth a valiant effort but eventually falls. He quickly pulls himself out, but it's too late. Lava covers his body, melting him alive. He reaches out for help. There is none. Later, we are all on the logs. I drop something into the fire and reach in to grab it. It isn't as hot as I thought. Many of us touch the firewater. We are not harmed.

Feeding Time

A Dream From The Past

There is an inside swimming pool the size of a football field and 100 ft. Deep. On each side of the pool are three ladders stretching from the bottom of the pool to the top. Like the Hunger Games, this pool is watched by many for entertainment purposes. Audiences watch as prisoners and captives are put to the test. A prisoner must swim down the ladder about 40 - 50 ft. Where there is a knot or lock. They must undo the knot/lock and then float to the top. Here's the twist, around ten seconds after the prisoner dives in, a Megalodon shark is released into the pool. If the prisoner does not complete the task fast enough, the giant shark will catch and eat them.

My family has been taken captive for an unknown reason. We are brought to the pool as thousands cheer from the stands. Each of us is put to the test. One by one, we dive into the pool. One by one we undo the lock right as the Megalodon is released. So far, we all make it to the top alive. Next is my mom's turn. I am worried about her. She isn't a fast swimmer, but she pleads with us not to help her. She dives in. I watch as the clock ticks and know that she will not make it. Against her wishes, I jump in behind her. I find that she is struggling with the lock. I take over and finish it. The Megalodon is released. We swim to the top. Death's grasp barely escapes us. Dream ends.

Strange and Wonderful

Dream 4/26/2018

I'm in a nearby town. I join a few strangers for pizza at a pizzeria. We sit at a table, which is, at times, inside the restaurant and, at times, outside. A presentation begins showcasing all the strange and beautiful people who have lived in this town. The unusual people start to appear. Giants, thirty feet tall, walk down the road. A man with a tree as a head stands up near where I am sitting. Most of who are talked about are giants. The master of ceremonies talks about how we need to bring more unique people to this town.

I am in a hotel room with Robert Stack filming an episode of Unsolved Mysteries. We are told a story of a girl who is supposedly buried twenty feet below the floor of this room. The manager of the hotel is present. He suggests that we move the bed over the spot where the girl is buried, and no one will know. We rearrange the room. The bed is tiny and looks as if it was built for little people. I ask the manager if he will tell guests of the buried girl. I say that if I knew I was sleeping twenty feet above a dead body, that I couldn't stay the night here.

A woman comes into the room and begins a witchcraft-type ritual. I kindly walk out and roam the hotel. I find an area that is only for me. In the prominent place are several pools and hot tubs. One pool has a basketball goal. There is one man in a hot tub. At the end of the room is a tiny skate bowl for skateboarding. A few very small, 70's styled skateboards are provided. I try to skate but cannot. The man from the hot tub tries to skate as well. He gives up. I lose my skateboard under the bowl, or maybe a curtain just feet away. I give up and leave.

We hear rumors that there is an area just for girls in the hotel. We distract the employees while several of us guys sneak inside. The lights are dimmed. There is a maze in the middle of the room. On the walls are flat-screen TVs with all of our names and a description of who we are. I find a screen that says Laverty, and it describes me as Cain from the Bible. But then I realize that it's a different Laverty. A screen a few screens away says, Keith Laverty. It describes me, but I cannot understand it. A girl next to me explains that I am the kind of guy who when rejected by a girl, becomes self-conscious. I tell her that I've never been turned down by a girl because I've never asked a girl out.

Most people leave the room. I linger behind. I find a book rack with two books that I wrote. My pen name on the books is Gooder Ralphio. The last name is different on both publications. I read the synopsis of one book to a girl standing nearby. It's about a man who flies an airplane which is missing a fin. I tell the girl that the man who wrote this book was born in Louisiana and grew up in Los Angeles. He became wealthy from writing these books and drove expensive cars. Dream ends.

Recreational

Dream 12.16.2017

My family has traveled in an RV to a small town. We are staying in a cabin next to several swimming pools. At night, everyone is called out of the pool for a live performance next to the big slide. I'm a bit annoyed that they have to make everyone get out of the pool. What if some people don't give a rip about the performance?

I walk into the cabin and find two attractive girls. I don't know their names. The two girls and I find an abandoned house where we have sex.

My family and I pack up the RV and drive to a house in a bad part of town. We stay there overnight. While upstairs in the bad house, I hear gunshots down the street and downstairs where my mom is staying. My mom is not hurt.

We pack up the RV and start to leave until one of the guys in our RV wants revenge on the person who shot the gun downstairs. He jumps out of the RV. I follow. We run up to a random house and he pulls out a can of yellow spray paint. He sprays a nonsensical symbol on the front door. He then runs to the next house and does the same thing. He repeats this action. A police cruiser drives up the street. I yell at the man, "The cops are here!" He continues his high art. I run back to the RV.

We drive up the street trying to find our guy. We follow the yellow, painted front doors. One after another. Gibberish. Nonsense symbols. We finally see him. He jumps back into the RV.

We make a pit stop at a nearby gas station where we run into a police officer. Most of us stay quiet in the RV, hoping that he doesn't catch us. It's against the law to have a lot of people in an RV at one time. The cop takes one of our people and shoves them into his car. It's possible that we talk the cop out of taking them. Dream ends.

Buzzards

Dream 9/26/2017

I create a new game. I take a billiards table and transform it. The green table cloth now has several holes in it. Two big holes on the ends and one small hole in the middle. The two big holes are called "the mountain" and the small hole in the middle is "the source." I also plan to put several holes surrounding the middle hole called "the buzzards." The object of the game is to throw four dark blue or red billiard balls at once. The balls must hit the edge of the opposite side and then roll into the "source" hole. The balls must avoid the "buzzards."

I set up dozens of tables in my home and create a business out of my game. People come and play. They pay me money for my entertainment.

At one point, I am captured and taken to a building similar to a castle. I decide to escape. I help others who are with me. We make it out. I swim down a river. Underneath me are hammerhead sharks. I've heard that if you swim above hammerheads, they cannot see you because of the position of their eyes. I swim above them and have no issues. Dream ends.

The Billionaire's Place

Dream 8/1/2017

While messing around on Google Earth, I find that I have actually transported myself to a billionaire, rock stars backyard. This yard is extremely luxurious. Large marble steps lead down to a reflection pool. In the middle of the pool is a separate, square pool. On the edge of the reflection pool, I see a few guitars connected to an amplifier. I check out all three guitars and find that they are bass guitars.

I look over to another side of the reflection pool and see a dugout full of guitars. I walk over to check them out. I desire to play an expensive guitar. Browsing through the instruments, I come across a black Gibson SG. I pull it from the collection. Right then, the billionaire musician comes running from his house toward me.  He begins to berate me for trespassing and playing with his toys. He then trudges through the reflection pool toward the separate pool in the middle. He shows me his pet Great White Shark that lives in the separate pool. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Transplant

Dream 7/2/2017

My dialysis doctor performs a kidney transplant on me. He does this not in a hospital but in his cabin. After the surgery, I look at my scar. I have a line about eight inches in length on my belly. The cut is deep with staples holding it together. My doctor has instructed me to take it easy. He and several students leave for the day. I have the cabin to myself.

The neighbors ask if they could come over for dinner. I tell them that I need to rest. I shut the big sliding doors and lock them so that nobody will bother me.

A pool party is taking place next door. Tim Allen is there. He carries a water slide over to the deep end of the pool but looks frustrated. The slide doesn't fit. He then carries the slide to the shallow end of the pool. It fits but he is afraid that he will slam into the floor of the pool and hurt himself. He says, "you guys can try it but I'm not going to." I very much want to swim but I am concerned about the stitches on my belly. I don't want them to come undone. I decide against swimming for the time being. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Swimming with The Sharks

Dream 2/24/2015

We are at a public pool, only, this pool is a bit more sophisticated.

It's partly indoor and outdoor. The slide is actually a small building that you take the indoor stairs to get to the top. And if you want a real thrill, there is a cliff jump above the slide. Good luck.

I take the slide. It's packed with people. I crash into the water with super speed. I jump up in celebration. A bunch of older guys see me. They start pointing and laughing. I try to ignore them. I get out of the pool and they follow me. They grab me, push me to the ground and start kicking me. All because they believe I'm not cool enough.

Days later, my brother-in-law, Chad wants to go back to the pool. I tell him I don't want to but I don't have the guts to tell him why. Dream ends.

I wake up.

Shark

Dream 5-29-13

Walking through a warehouse, I see some acquaintances of mine. They are standing on a catwalk above a pool. I walk to them. They draw my attention to the pool. I take a glance. I see a shadow of a creature swimming below the surface. They tell me it is a Great White shark. However, it is only mechanical. They want to play a game. A few more friends come by. We tell them to get into the pool. There are about four men. They wade into the pool. My friends on the catwalk push a button. Right then the shark rises out of the water and lets out a fear-inducing growl. The four men below scream and try to swim away. We all have a good laugh. Dream ends.

I wake up.
