Red Balloon

Dream 8/30/2016

My sister, brother-in-law, nephews and me are driving a pickup truck down the road that runs past my childhood church.

My sister and nephews are in the cab of the truck, while I sit in the bed and my brother-in-law, Chad, is floating, crossed legged, down the road behind us. I hold a red balloon by the string in my hands. I slowly release the string little bits at a time until I am at the end. The balloon catches the wind and begins to pull me out of the truck.

A white car is driving right behind Chad and is annoyed at the pace we are going. It speeds up and swerves around us like a drunk, crazy person. I let go of my balloon. My sister stops the truck. I jump out and chase the car as far as I can screaming, "You piece of shit! YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" The car drives off into the distance.

I begin to walk back when I see Chad lying lifeless on the pavement. Dream ends.

Dream 8/22/2016

I'm working at IHOP, being trained as an egg cook. A young, Mexican man is teaching me his culinary ways when all of a sudden, I hear the sound of a girl screaming at the top of her lungs. Dream ends.

Gonna Make You Sweat

Nightmare 8/18/2016

     I'm eating at a restaurant late at night. The place is packed with people. I finish up and walk outside to my Jeep. I find it strange that the only vehicle in the parking lot is my Jeep, however, the restaurant is full.

     I go to start my car and it won't turn. It's dead. I walk inside and ask a man, sitting by himself, if I can get a jump. He says, "ok," wipes his face with a napkin and walks outside with me. A few guys follow. He asks me, "so you need gas money?" I tell him that I need him to jump start my Jeep. I ask him if he has jumper cables. When we walk out to the parking lot, we find my Jeep already started and turned sideways inside the parking space. I'm suddenly overcome with fear, I know something is wrong. One of the guys climbs in the vehicle while me and the others stand back. Suddenly a person appears from the darkened back seat with a butchers knife and stabs the man in the back. The man screams. The person in the shadows holds the knife in the restaurant goers back and starts to twist it. The man in the front seat screams even more so. Dream ends.

Carrey Me Home

Dream 8/17/2016

I'm sitting at a picnic table with Jim Carrey. I tell him that my mom loves the movies "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" and "Dumb and Dumber."

With a confused look on his face, he asks, "so which of my movies do conservatives like?" I tell him the two I already mentioned. He continues, "and liberals?" I know the answer but I can't remember the title. I fumble my words for a moment when Jimbo realizes the answer. "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," he says, still a confused look on his face.

Jim and I enter a building where a reception is currently happening. I coach him, "now remember, go up there and do some dialogue from 'Dumb and Dumber.'"

Suddenly, Jim turns into my friend, Joel, and the reception turns into a quiet funeral. Joel gets up on the stage and starts in on his comedy routine, "When the goin' gets goin'," he says, "you gotta keep on goin'." Dream ends

Planes Walker

Dream 8/2/2016

The town I live in doesn't have any automobiles. A few friends and I build a life-sized, working tie fighter out of paper. When it's finished I fly it down a country road toward the gate to another dimension. I stop right before the gate and meet with some friends.

A buddy of mine complains that his tie fighter isn't accurate enough. We all walk through the gate, which looks like many trees huddled together. As we go, I look up and it looks as if every ray of sun has gathered in one spot. My friend tells me not to go to the sun spot, if I do, I will die like all the others. We make it to the other side. It doesn't look much different than where I came from. Fields of green and gold. I see a few farm houses off in the distance. I think I am in Vermont. Dream ends.
